Some good ones have already gotten on board.

What positions does UK try to load up on in this class? Who are our main targets early on in the process?

Good recruiting classes are not built by loading up on a couple of positions. I expect 2017 to be a balanced class.

Rowland updates every week and sometimes 3-4x a week on visits, offers, how each recruit is responding to UK, potential targets etc

My count might be slightly off, but it looks like UK will have 75 players on scholarship going into 2017. After subtracting the upcoming SR's, I counted 49 players existing + 26 players incoming (including the early enrollees & Cole) = 75 total. Without any early graduates, transfers or incoming players who fail to enroll, that only leaves 10 open spots. Obviously, more spots will come open, but it may only be a handful.

Did you deduct the guys that left the program? I know they all still show up on the roster.

I just recounted I came to 74 counting Cole and Laster. I fudged something my first count lol. I still think we get close to 20. I can look at the roster and see 4 to 5 transfers atleast.

I've heard 17 to 20. There are a few Jr's that are going to graduate early. I see 3 guys that are passed on the depth chart for sure. It will shake out after spring.

I would think they would try and restock the WR corps. They will lose a lot over the next 2-3 years.

Provitt, hs nt, hs dt, hs sde. 3 wr because a guy like koback can do rb or slot. We are still recruiting rb pretty hard so 2 not counting koback.

I say we only take 3 OL this year. 2 OT and 1 og. Probably only 2 dbs too. S and cb. Small classes are gonna leave some holes.

Hopefully 2 of those OL will be from right here in KY. Has anyone heard much about Junior day? I don't think there has been any threads about it since it was over. Very hush hush it seems. Unless it is on HOB that is

Premium info would leak out in a day or 2. I heard we had our #1 target at ilber at camp but didn't see a name. Got to assume danny Davis is 1 or 2 at wr.

Uk is good at db. We have Westry Baity Walker West Edwards Cole Gilliam Beckam Robinson randolph Griffin. With the size we are getting at corner any of those guys can play safety are nickel. Only Randolph will be gone after 2017. I think we take 3 or 4 dtackles if the right ones wanna commit. Tackle is a position that you have to really know what your looking for. Outside a couple can't miss guys this is the hardest position to evaluate and recruit. Take a guy like Cross he was a 5.3 2 star but he camped went up against Drake and did as well as some of the all americans. He is also 6"3 315 and ran a 4.9.

Phelps — a 6-foot, 185-pound athlete — will participate in the Best of the Midwest Combine in Indianapolis on Monday. The camp features some of the most promising high school prospects from surrounding states, and UK commitment Russ Yeast and Wildcats target Jaylen Kelly-Powell are both also expected to be there.


UK assistant coach John Schlarman, who is the program’s primary in-state recruiter, was in Paintsville a couple of weeks ago to see Phelps, a former high school teammate of new Wildcats signee Kash Daniel

I've seen an offer to a OL from Tn and 2 more from NC whom are teammates. Don't want to give out more than that

He was their. Don't think he's been evaluated yet as he's a 5.4 2** recruit out of North Carolina. Seems were hitting North Carolina pretty hard

He reminds me of Kash. Chip on the shoulder. He loves UK as well so maybe 2 years in a row!
