It seems incredible that Coleman is going to pull to 125 pounds or 57kg in hopes of making the 2016 Olympic games. That is a 29% loss of body weight if he weighs 145# walking around. Sounds like both he and his wife are dedicated to do this and I wish both well.

Closer to 14%.
29% would be over 40 pounds.
I think he will be fine. By committing to the drop this early it allows him to transform his body to that of a smaller man, not just "cut" the weight. If he is indeed walking around only at 145 pounds then its really not that big of a drop with this much time, only having to make the weight a couple times and day before weigh ins.

*edit* just read the article and it says he started the descent already and is currently about 145. With that it may be a bit more difficult than my last comment depending on how far above 145 he started.

That is a huge cut...he just has to be disciplined to stay at 145 I would think?
