One thing I'm particularly upset over

I'm not happy we lost but losing to a very good Michigan team isn't the end of the world. The thing that I'm upset about is the missed field goal. Kuhbander has now missed more than he's made. It didn't make much of a difference today but it really stinks that we are so bad at that position. A team like ours that struggles to score points could sure use a good kicker.

Then you’ll be really pissed that Fitz seems to want to stick with Kuhb in his post game comments

Well he certainly doesn’t announce changes or throw players under the bus in a postgame press conference.

Football 🏈 is not on the up and up at Northwestern! I don’t see an upside anywhere in next few years! Gonna be difficult to make money 💰 too

And we all know how your predictions go. For F*** sake, you didn't even know where the game was being played this weekend.

Don't listen to these Negative Nancys. I want the old Wrassler back:

"Hunter's a cinch to throw for 3500y and will probably average 500 yards per game!!!!!!!!"
"Hunter's a cinch to be a high draft pick next year!!!!!!"
"Evan Hull is unstoppable!!!!!!!!"
"Our OL may be inexperienced, but we're one box of Wheaties away from being the best OL in the Big Ten!!!!!!!!!"

Dude, I'll take your infectious - and very entertaining - enthusiasm every day of the week. Don't listen to these clowns.

For me it is the second half kickoff. Our players seemed confident we had the ball, and not even a single replay was shown.

Yeah, I didn't get that.
The college football narrative works better on every level if Michigan is good. Except for those of us that despise them. Fox wants them good, the Refs can't help but be biased. They're human, sort of. This, even though they've accomplished NOTHING since Llllloyd Carr was coach. I respect ECat's scorn for OSU, but every year, I can't wait for them to kick Michigan repeatedly in the sack. Effing can't stand that program, its fans or its coach

Also, the 2018 prediction: "Purdue over Ohio State, and it won't even be close." Wrassler nailed it!

The refs hadn't yet blown the whistle, we apparently then stripped the ball, and then the refs said the play was dead. In the first half, however, when the Michigan RB broke out for a ten yard gain after being stopped at the LOS for five seconds, they let it go. I just wish they had been consistent out there.

When the refs were talking amongst themselves and then I saw Brandon Joseph’s reaction to what was being said I knew we were going to get screwed.I guess the officials can negate a replay by saying forward progress had been stopped even though they didn’t blow a whistle.Must be nice.

Loyalty is not necessarily a virtue. Fitz' loyalty to him and JON is killing us.
Im just a fan but i feel sorry for the players who sweat and work hard in the midst of politics and buddies that has resulted in embarrassing losses.

they were consistent - in favor of the blue balls, er, blue blood program. Thing is - Michigan didn't need any of that, they were better and outplayed us. But at a time when the game was still in question, those calls mattered. We did get one egregious PI call in our favor, though I don't think it was on our only scoring drive.

What is Fitz going to say?Kuhb sucks eggs and he is never going to kick for us again.Of course he is not going to say that. His first reaction is going to be to stick up for his guy.Nothing wrong with that. But Fitz knows the lack of production we have had from the kicking game.My main concern is do we have anyone else on the roster better than CK.Hope Olsen is the guy.If he is great. If not we better get someone in here ASAP.Cant keep leaving points off the board with our offense.

That upsets me because 3 more points would have meant we'd have covered the spread...

But yeah Kuhbs has been real bad this year. 4-9 on FGs? And I think he's like 1-5 from more than 35 yards or something. Has plenty of leg on it, just no accuracy - either mechanics or mental ie lack of confidence... I'm worried it's the latter. We've seen him be good in the past (he was 13-16 his freshman year!) but lots of issues this year.

Nice strawman. It’s not a binary choice between saying he sucks eggs and acting like there’s nothing wrong. There’s a middle ground there that’s a mile wide. An accountable coach may say for example, Charlie has delivered for us in the past but currently the results from the kicking game are not acceptable and we will be opening up competition at that spot.

Making up excuses out of thin air for a player that is struggling hardcore doesn’t jive with a coach that claims to care about accountability. Continuing to throw said player out there as if nothing is wrong when he is clearly having a hard time isn’t fair to the player or the team.

What Fitz should say and what he will say are two different things. We all know how secretive Fitz is.He can teach the CIA a thing or two about keeping secrets.I hope behind the sceenes there is an open competition going on.A real competition. The only guy on the roster I would think can beat out CK is Olsen. If the coaches are waiting to save his shirt Or feel that there is not much of a difference I don’t know.I just say put the one out on the field that gives us the best chance to win.And if we don’t have an upgrade then hit the portal and have them ready for next season.Missing makeable FG’s is unacceptable.

This is true, but, in this context, I'll believe it when I see someone else kicking. Coaches are weird about a couple of positions, they act like they'll get COVID if another QB or Kicker sees meaningful action. Every other position has "competitive depth" but the kickers and QB sit and sit and sit until their participation in meaningless garbage time, if at all. RB fumbles - go to the doghouse and stay there. Kicker misses multiple opportunities...crickets. Meaning - the 2nd stringer will have zero game experience next year, presuming Charlie isn't granted yet another year. /s

Weird thing to me - other than Fitz's unhealthy obsession with "the seniors! the seniors!", I don't get this attachment. The reason he goes for it on 4th down so often is that he doesn't have confidence in Charlie. He is 1-5 vs P5 competition. Try someone else. What could happen, a missed FG? Hunter is a senior, and he got benched. It's like he just doesn't care about FG's and only does them in the 25-40 range if no other real option.

I guess it's pointless (pun intended) to debate it. Fitz gonna Fitz, and we can take it and say "thank you, sir, may I have another?"
