Orange Bowl chances

If we finish 10-2 could we go to the Orange Bowl? After the NC State loss, I know our chances are zero to make the conference championship game, but a NY6 Bowl game is still on the table if we do finish 10-2.

Honest opinions on the Orange Bowl chances.

We basically would need NC St, Miami and VaTech to all crap the bed the rest of the way. So that along with the fact that we have no marquee games left, there just isn't the opportunity to get up in the rankings. Short answer is very, very small chance.

Possible. Football is a funny game. Sitting at the halfway point at 4-2 with the toughest game behind isn't a bad place to be. The concern will be the depth. That's what really caught your team last season. It's an outside shot though.

I don't think we have much chance if we had everybody.

But injuries are piling up and I'm just hoping we win more thane we lose now.

We're not any "better" than most of what's left.

Now the Cards have to win out. I might actually buy a Courier Journal if they do just to see if you are a man of your word. :D

Whatever bowl opportunity you get, you value.

I think we're in for a rude awakening when basketball season rolls around...like NIT invite "rude". Gonna be a long winter, so don't let football get away from you without trying to enjoy it.

Or knock yourself out when the women's team starts playing...

When asked the question about the thread title, I was just asking IF we finished 10-2, I def don't expect that we will.

Red, I've looked at the schedule... I'll bet you $20 we don't win 20 games, a 20-20 bet. (I win at 19 or less.)

I don't wanna bet enough where I'm pulling against my team. And I hope I lose that $20.

BTW, we'll do OK OOC. But we're gonna killed in the ACC, likely no better than .500...

Well, lack of coaching, but that's not an indictment of David Padgett. At the moment, he's not good enough to get a job coaching anywhere, or he would already have it. The guy will in all likelihood be a good coach eventually, but it's a huge longshot that time is 2018.

And where that will show up is when we don't have a massive talent advantage, after the OOC games. The conference games will be brutal IMO.

Again, I hope I'm dead wrong...

If a coach is worth $5M then we will find out this year. My guess is that having such an inexperienced coach is probably worth 4-5 extra losses
