What if Scott Frost waited for the Oregon job to open up and he knew Willie Taggart was leaving. Would Scott waited and would Oregon waited for him instead of Mario Crisotabal? Is he having second thoughts of signing with Nebraska knowing the landscape of college football has changed compared to when he played in the 90's, recruiting top players to come here because of geography, the Big Ten is more physical for the offense he runs because he played in the Big 12, and etc?

I wondered the same thing, Frost with Justin Herbert would be scary.

Ultimately, I think he wanted to rebuild his alma mater, but he could have competed for championships immediately at Oregon.

I think as confident as Coach Frost is he feels he can do anything. Good in a coach. If you doubt yourself you are screwed. It was eating at him what had happened to his alma mater.

Why even post this? If Frost didn't want to be here, he wouldn't be here. He turned down the Florida job for ****'s sake.

Ducks lost. Can we lock the thread and move on to more inane specualtion?

What if Saban had waited for NU to open rather than taking Bama’s job?

What if Tom Brady had signed with Nebraska instead of Michigan?

What if Danica had won a Nascar race?

What if Evander had chewed Mike’s ear off?

To be honest...Frost would be taking a huge risk going to a non-NU school and implementing his "culture". Kicking kids off the team for rules violations and not buying in and only recruiting the "right" type of kids doesn't really fly in the SEC or the PAC 12. He would be under immense pressure to win right away, and although this worked UCF, that was partly because UCF had the best talent on the field in most of their games. Remember, they won a BCS game only two years before frost got there, and their schedule included many poor or average teams and zero good power 5 teams until Auburn. Frost reminds me a lot of Turner Gill who was run out of Kansas because his implementation of "culture" alienated nearly everybody on campus. Frost will get away with it at NU and we will EVENTUALLY reap the benefits, but he would likely be 4 and out at a Florida or Oregon if he couldn't adapt to the "demands" of a major college program.

Oregon. Is that the place that the fans throw bottles and give the one finger salute to a team that beats them on their home field?

Interesting take as OR does play more like his UCF teams do and have almost unlimited resources and a much better talent base on team when he walked in door. Or why he didn't go to FL which was more logical as he was already recruiting right there and that program has unreal resources and potential to be NC again with it's in state recruiting potential and Big Brand name recognition. NU's time as a national power and relevant in playoffs is most likely over and will struggle mightily to get them back to competing for B1G west title is a more realistic goal. Frost is a terrific HC and will be interesting to see him deal with this first season which doubtful he even gets to a hind tit bowl. Purdue game will be very telling. Not being able to convince one of the veteran QB's to stay with program was huge loss. good luck competing with a walk on or wounded fr for rest of season. it's going to be a long one.
