Here with my kids. Manufactured crust, cheap grainy mozzarella, different sauce recipe. May as well have been Pizza Hut. Total garbage. I won't be back.

Last I was there in June the crust was perfect and the original sauce (different from the crap the franchises use) was perfect.

I will say the fried mushrooms aren't great - some places in Austin put them to shame.

I've never been to the original hideaway in Stillwater. Never could afford it in college and it is too busy when I'm back now.

I was too poor to eat hideaway unless someone brought over a "mistake order" or whatever we used to get...my roommate was friends with a cook over there.

Otherwise, it was pizza shuttle.

Speaking of eating in Stillwater, my nephew says Shortcakes is noted to be pure garbage now by his generation...maybe it was just the people I ran with, but we all loved to go shortcakes and eat "that garbage".

Is he eating Short cakes post 2 am and completely blitzed? If not then he doesn't know what he's talking about.

It's not the "original" Hideaway (IMHO) unless it was the hole in the wall, next to Beirig's laundromat around the corner on 3rd Ave from it's current location. Looking at Google maps it appears that's now a "Coffee House."

I still remember when the current Stillwater location was a nightclub owned by Jimmy Jackson and the portion of that building which faced the fire station, was still an unconverted (but closed) movie theater with a 2nd floor.

Who else remembers when the Hideaway delivery vehicles consisted 100% of old VW Bugs?

It's the ordinal recipe which is what counts. The fake hideaways aren't as good but still the best in town. I too remember having to go to Ken's on Sunday night to get the family special because hideaway was too high dollar. When I got to grad school I said screw it I'll have a job soon and went Hideaway only the last year. You would hear the bugs pull up in the parking lot late at night. Would get an instant pizza jones at the sound. Ate more then one $1 special they had left when someone didn't come down to get their order.

Well it totallsucked yesterday. My son and I usually split a medium, and yesterday neither one of us could finish a slice. It was literally the worst pizza I've had in Stillwater.

Dragged the GF to shortcakes kicking and screaming last year. Its the same as it ever was, greasy, dirty, fly ridden, and delicious. There is no hope for the next generation. GF's kids refuse to do anything that gets dirt on them.

Hideway in STL was good last year when I went, we gota free large out of it because they messed up one of the toppings (we didnt even notice, the waitress noticed it and told us she was going to have them cook us an extra). The new Hideaway in Bville is realy good so far. The one in Norman suuuucked when we went there a couple of years ago.

Pizza shuttle was great. "Shuttle drop" and all. I miss that place.

Hideaway in Stillwater has always been good when we've been in recent years, last spring being the most recent.

Conversely, I'd rate the ones in Tulsa as only decent to above average. I can name sveral pizza place in (greater) Tulsa that are significantly better IMO: Andolini's, STG, Savastano's, East Village Bohemian, Russo's, Marley's.

Andolinis has me completly spoiled. Need to try the others.

Still love Hideaway, Short Cakes interior is to filthy for me to eat their food. I'd rather get breakfast at Boomerang's downtown.

I hit the Hideway up in Automobile Ally quit a bit since I am in that area of town and the wife likes Hideway. I had the "DA Bomb" and it was really good. It does remind me of a chain pizza though.

I don't miss the throw up under the seats at Shortcakes.

Andolini's is the best pizza I've ever had anywhere, including New York and Italy. Simply spectacular.

STG, that I referenced above, is owned by the Andolini's folks. It's their Neopolitan style pizza in downtown Tulsa (Blue Dome District).

I'll be in Tulsa for a wedding next weekend and wanna hit up Andolini's (never been). Any suggestions on which pizzas to order? I'd hate to ask some 17 yr old waiter "what's your best pizza" and then be told "I like pepperoni"...

They have a BUNCH of good ones of their own creation. We most often get the combination, but the Porchetta and Tenbysimmo are fantastic. Pizza Rustica is a little different but also awesome.

Funny story, the last time I ate at Joe's I ordered a cheese burger and when it came out it was the bun, meat, and a tomato slice, that's it. I said to my waitress, "I think this might be somebody else's, I ordered the cheeseburger" and I lifted the plate to hand to her but she was walking off.

She came back 5-10 minutes later with a side plate that had a single slice of cold cheese sitting on it and said "here, you go, sorry about thst" and then walked off. After that I just said f it. Still a great place to have drinks and socialize though.

Their staff knows their stuff, I love their originals. Great beer selection too. Strongly suggest the Cherry St location for a NY feel.

I am sorry, but the original Andolini's in Owasso is complete **** in my book..... the last time I was in there our pizza was burnt and it took them an hour to serve our food at LUNCH..... Hideaway is a ton better in my book..... I won't be back to Andolini's on my dime.....

Never eaten at the Owasso location.

The pies I've had on 15th are the best I've ever had.
