Starts Thursday, September 8 at 8:30pm EST. They will broadcast all of season one and season two in their entirety and in order.

Of course this is to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Star Trek which first aired on September 8, 1966. I was only 7 when the series started, so I don't recall much about it. I have seen a few episodes in rerun through the years. Should be pretty cool. I've set my DVR to record the first 5 or 6 episodes, plus some other random episodes that are supposed to be really good.

Just re-watched Shore Leave episode. They land on a planet where what ever they wish for, they recieve. Takes whole episode before they start wishing for whores and booze.

Most folks cite "City On The Edge Of Forever" as the best episode, but my favorite is "Balance of Terror".

Just a really great story and I love how it allows other Bridge officers a chance to advise the Captain on potential Command decisions.

Too often, as the series progressed, the only input Kirk receive was from Spock and McCoy. While it made for compelling drama, BOT showed the same could be true with an expanded roster of advisers.

Netflix has the whole series.

Netflix only has the version of with the new special effects, unfortunately. It's not a deal-breaker for me, but it's weird watching it after watching the original version of the original series all of my life. ;b

The show was always too sophisticated, subtle and profound for me.

There was an episode where there was a guy whose face was white on the left and black on the right and another guy whose face was black on the left and white on the right. And they hated each other.

What the hell was that about?
No one knows.:alien:

I've DVRd every episode so far. Have watch about 6 of them. Classic.

I never kept up with it. Is this the series that had a girl from Paducah in it. Can't much remember her name though. Her dad was a guard at the paper mill in Wickliffe when it was called Westvaco. Maybe her dad's last name was Zimmerman. I think her married name was Ryan, and the husband was in Chicago politics. Anyone remember? Slender chick and attractive. Danced with her one time at a bar on the southside of Paducah. Told her I'd see her on TV someday...and did. FCC.
