He's gone. No way this gets done anytime before the draft. Even the draft in 2023.

Maybe if he just says "Mitch, Please!"

I hate how indifferent I’ve become to the program because I love Oscar! I’m so torn on whether I want him to stay so next year isn’t a total disaster or whether I want him to avoid the inevitable train wreck. No matter how it all works out, I hope Oscar gets what he wants. If anyone deserves it, it’s him.

If he's having to resort to this, odds are he won't be able to access NIL money any time soon.

Changing immigration laws is a tall task when you consider how hyper partisan all immigration arguments are in Congress.

All politics aside I just couldn't stand to look into those dead eyes for twenty minutes. Maybe all that teasing about being named Addison just made him hollow inside. To add to that he is a UL grad too. I hate how he says that he is from Kentucky when he didn't move to Louisville until he was 14. I didn't move to the Bluegrass until I was 8 and I don't refer to myself as from Kentucky.

This. And it’s become so damn stupid.

GOP: “We want immigrants to come here legally and work!”
Oscar: “I have come here legally expand wish to gain the fruits of my work”
Congress: “Well now. Can’t have you doing that…”

Defies all common sense.

Honestly most immigration discussions in Congress devolve into campaign speeches aimed at a politicians particular voting bloc.

You can have the most common sense, well written bill, that would allow Oscar to access his NIL money while on a student visa. And certain Representatives and Senators will just use it as an excuse to grandstand on their personal views on immigration.

This is the nightmare scenario for Oscar. Having his NIL and college eligibility come down to getting Congress to agree on immigration reform.

Oh, so that's not in the BUILD BACK BETTER disaster that Matt Jones would approve of?
Who want's that, child tax credits so 70% more children go to bed with food in their bellies. Creating jobs for people, giving internet access to rural area's, we have more important things to do. Peach season, revenge is a dish best served cold

Congress should absolutely do something about this
they got the ball rolling on NIL now they need to fix the cracks that great young men like Oscar are falling in

they only problem is that it will take them a decade to do so

I can tell you one thing... politicians can suffer at the hands of college basketball fans. Here in NC the state assembly and governor passed a law that received a lot of national attention and backlash. Part of that backlash was the NCAA pulling the NCAA tournament out of NC sites. Red or Blue, the college basketball fans in this state got pissed off. That now former Governor is basically a pariah in this state.

The Kentucky representatives and senators better actually work to get immigration reform passed. Pissing off all the UK basketball fans in the state is not a smart reelection strategy.

Tie it to an Ukraine aid bill and they'll have it done by next week.
