I couldn't find out how many minutes he played for those stats but players rarely play over 28 minutes in the G League.

Wish he hadn’t signed a contract we could pay him more than he’s making to come back and play.. I’m sure he wouldn’t be eligible in more ways than just that tho

Oscar is the basketball equivalent to the AAAA baseball player. Love the guy, but he just can't do his thing against NBA bigs.
He's gotten a opportunity to prove that when exactly? He puts up 20+ rebound performances regularly in the GL, the NBA is the next step up. If he can get 20/20 in GL regularly he can do well enough to at least be a limited role player somewhere.

Super happy for Oscar, I hope that his defense keeps getting better and his shooting continues to improve. I think he can be a Chuck Hayes type player that can play for many years.

Surely there's a place on an NBA roster somewhere for him to thrive, even if as a bench player getting 15-20 minutes a game. Just doesn't make much sense. If Chuck Hayes lasted as long as he did in the NBA, surely Oscar can.

I havn't quite figured out what the Jazz are doing. They could probably get a 2nd round pick out of Oscar right now and they keep him in the G League and bring him up to the NBA frequently to sit on the bench and get a DNP. They're playing the seven footer Markkanen at the three and playing journeymen bigs at the 4/5 spots(Kessler, Filipowski, Kevin Love, Nurkic) and they are not a good team. Unless they're trying to build up Filipowski's stats to trade him I can't figure out any logic.

As a two way player, my guess is that he gets more love than the typical G league player. The Jazz probably want him to stay sharp in case they need him at some point.

And although it’s not top tier money, I read his salary is still $600k if he plays all year on that contract?

I doubt that the $600k is right since the NBA minimum salary for a player with no years of experience this year is $1,157,153 but I admit I know next to nothing about G League salaries or 2 way contracts.

I think he can. His "thing" is getting the ball after a missed shot. He doesn't do that in the G-league (or while at UK) because he is more athletic or bigger than the other guys. He does it so well because 1) he wants it more, and 2) he knows how to best position himself for rebounds.
That translates to the NBA.
He has played 297min in NBA, and gotten 138 rebounds in those minutes. That is 1reb every 2:09. This year the only guys in the NBA averaging 1reb every 2:30 or better are:
Drummund 2:20
Duren 2:25
Adams 2:27
Nurkic 2:30
So, in those 297 minutes, he has shown to be the best rebounder in the entire NBA. Would that hold if he had 2097 minutes, IDK, but I doubt he would be significantly worse.

When Oscar gets minutes in the NBA he rebounds at an astounding rate.

He just doesn’t do anything else.

I wish he would make it.

But time is running out.

Oscar Tshiebwe, $85,300 guaranteed ($318,218 1DoS)

A two-way contract can guarantee up to half of base compensation ($318,218 for 2025-26) if the player is not waived by the first day of the regular season (1DoS).
Two-way contracts pay half the value of a rookie minimum salary ($636,435 for the 2025-26 season, pro-rated based on the in-season signing date).

So if Oscar stays with the team for the whole year (2 way contract), he will earn $636,435. He is already guaranteed $318,218.

2 way guys make 1/2 the league min.
