Just signed up for myself, wife and daughter. I think I also won a couple auction items from the golf tourney today so I am confident we now have enough NIL money for both Bassetts and Melvin 😂
Well done! :)

Chase, do you have any insight into when information will be sent out to those that RSVP’d? I figure it’ll come tomorrow but I’d emailed Brakston when the announcement first went out and never heard back so have a little ptsd that something might fall through the cracks:)

Fantastic event and something I highly recommend everyone consider who loves OSU wrestling. They mentioned hoping to host 1-2 of these per year, coinciding w the start of the collegiate and RTC seasons. Just walking into RTC practice and seeing some of the familiar (and surprise) faces was worth the price of admission. Great group of men from the coaches down to the incoming freshmen. I told coach Ward these are all guys you’d let your daughter date:) On the practice front, Dee, Troy and Ryder all looked like Saturday night caliber wrestlers. Figs and Ramirez both looked crisp and strong. Swiderski will die before he gives an inch. Super excited about this crew!

This was the first of these and it will get better as they tune it in. If you have suggestions, make them.

I think they could make some money having an afternoon Q/A with David. That was pretty obvious to me. They had to announce “one more question” and it was clear that there were lots more.

I also thought David was great at the Q/A! Very informative and inviting.

The rest of the staff did great too as they all were accessible to speak with.

The negative….the break after practice. If they were to maybe have a tailgate thing or a hangout spot for the attendees, something. Living 2.5 away and the coney being closed, I had a hard time occupying a 7yr old. But, it was a benefit to the local economy haha.

I also think David might should be mic’d up for the practice. I couldn’t hear some of his coaching and it looked like something I wanted to hear haha.

So, neat experience, worth it! It will also get better!

100% agree. The wife and I went to Murphy’s and relived our college years but the break should definitely be rethought next year. Watching David from afar, it’s clear he’s getting more comfortable talking to donors and the press. His Q/A was a highlight. Love that he isn’t so polished that it was all coach speak. Obvious statement but we are fortunate to have him. Great leader of men and is laser focused on his objectives. For someone like me who hasn’t been to the facilities in a long time, I really enjoyed the behind the scenes tour etc but they’ll need more “activities” if they want to do similar things more frequently… there just aren’t enough wrestling fans willing to spend that kind of money consistently if the agenda doesn’t vary to some degree. I saw David Carr posting on socials about being in Stillwater so not speaking out of turn but definitely cool watching him go at it with Daton. I told my wife I’d pay good money just for the opportunity to watch RTC practice. Hell, live stream it and I’d tune in most days lol. Met camera man Dan, who is incredibly valuable. We have one of the best social media teams in the sport. My only knock is that his videos are only 1-2 minutes. I eat that stuff up! ;)

Actually, we are well ahead of the curve on social media!

The Q/A was intended to be pretty personal and beneficial to attendees. We were given insight that others don’t get. He didn’t divulge some secrets, but he gave nuggets all through the session.

Like I said, it’ll get better. As a fanbase, we need to do our best to make sure the have the funding needed to perfect the plan. The staff gives it 100%, so should we.

I think this event will morph into a really neat deal.

love this. It’s definitely stepped up with DT at the helm. I’m not a social media fan but it’s the language of today so I’m glad we’re consistently making content.
Yeah, it’s great!

He brought in a guy that is full time content capture! I’ve seen Dan maybe without camera gear once or twice in 2 years.
