Am I getting delusional for having some optimism about this team? May a #6-8 seed in the weakened East?

Thaddeus Young sounds like a very good addition to the front court. Great citizen and a productive bench guy.

Satoransky certainly brightens the picture at PG. He's probably not a guy you want to rely on too much for offense, but he takes very good care of the ball. With Porter and Lauri, we might see an offense that can work inside out, and maybe give LaVine some space to drive. Maybe.

I like Carter as a defender. Young too. And Santorasky helps. Not a great defense, but should be better.

If they all can stay healthy, we might get 45 wins.

No, you're not delusional. It's a better roster. And then Lauri and Carter who are very young progress a year. And you have Otto Porter for a full season. I think Satoransky is potentially a very nice fit with LaVine. Vastly superior to Dunn.

I'd argue that Dunn and Valentine are clueless human beings when it comes to basketball...so best to get them out of the locker room. But difficult to see how that happens.

And I think coaching is a problem.

Essentially, the roster is now fast and nimble and can get up and down the court. Finally built for Holberg's style.

But they have a slow it down, defensive minded coach who is probably more of a second assistant than a head coach.

The signings were very smart. Two solid role players who will strengthen the rotation and keep the focus on the present and future: Lauri, Carter, Zach Lavine, and Coby White. The Bulls aren't going anywhere unless at least two of those guys become All-Stars.

With Otto Porter, that's five guys who can shoot 3s. Defenses won't be able to guard against Lavine's drives with all that shooting. Carter can create offense with his passing the way Noah used to, and Lauri can take one more step toward his destiny of becoming the next Dirk Nowitzki.

It's too bad they fired Hoiberg because he'd be the perfect coach for this team.

Lol. Even when the Bulls get the roster right they get the coach wrong. GarPax never fails.

Re Valentine, it sounds like his ankle really went nuclear.

Yes, delusional. Defense is putrid. LaVine seems to miss games a lot and an injury to any one of the players you highlight puts them in the Lotto.

The defense will ... leave a lot to be desired. I'll guess 38 wins, which will be enough to keep playoff embers alive through February and maybe March.

The roster is undoubtedly better and it’s clear that Dunn will be somewhere else when the season starts. I also agree on Valentine. Wish they could have traded him but he has no value. Would love to see them add a 3 and D wing who can swing between the 2 and the 3. While I am no Boylen fan, I am encouraged that he was self aware and secure enough to bring in a couple of very capable and experienced assistants. The guy they brought in from NJ may actually be a better head coaching prospect than Boylen.

The Bulls are methodically acquiring the talent to become competitive in the NBA East. Kind of like the Cats in the Big Ten. Getting Kornet is good for depth and insurance if Carter is not ready to go.
