I do not blame Gard for calling the time out because Michigan kept pressing when the game was over. Howard was mad because they called the time out which under normal circumstances would make sense but Michigan kept pressing.
The bottom feeders in the big 10 getting in is ridiculous.
Howard should be immediately suspended by Michigan. Should he be fired? Maybe. John Chaney publicly threatened to kill John Calipari but, kept his job at Temple. Different time and many years ago but, my point is people have done worse.
I suspect Howard will be suspended for the remainder of the regular season or at least until the "investigation" is complete. LOL!

Not condoning punching etc, but Gard completely instigated this by holding on to Howard and blocking his path so he could “explain the timeout” to Howard. Wrong time and wrong place and completely wrong way to go about it.
With that said - getting THAT pissy over a timeout is an overreaction.

And then Howard made it further worse by sticking his finger in Gard’s face. I’ve NEVER seen a finger in the face end well. I had a supervisor do that to me once., and all I wanted to do was take his hand and break it off. Don’t stick your finger in somebody’s face. Extremely rude and a sure way to instigate a fight.
I’ve never seen a coach do that before, crazy. I bet something will come out about how Gard said something “inappropriate” to start this to try and save face for him.
Gard, Howard, and that Wisconsin assistant all should be suspended two games.

In no world does him grabbing him to try and talk deserve a punch ti the face of someone who didn’t do anything(but presumably maybe say something when walking over).
