What a joke he lists Minnie HC above Ben.
Izzo and Painter have to be 1-2 at least to this point. May quickly climbing obviously. Hoiberg is way way to high based on his body of overall work. Ben has a great history at his other stops obviously but the point stands unless he is able to get players it's going to be really really hard for him to move up in this league, really good coach or not.
Nico was 1-0 vs Ben this year and several injuries to starters throughout the season. Talking with gopher fans they are very pleased with the hire. Nico will do well at MN.
It was a road game and the Barn has always given teams fits. Ben will do well at Iowa.
I’m not saying May isn’t a good coach but put Ben there and give him all the money he needs to field a team.
I like Ben more because I’m a homer. I am fearful that Minn didn’t screw up their last hire though. I also think Nico will do well there at Minnesota. Cool for the rivalry, but sucks to see them do well in anything.
I could definitely see an unbiased observer flip flopping Ben and Nico depending on the year or even day.
I think both universities hired a good one.
Minn lost to USC(!), Wisky, Neb, Maryland(!) at Home.
Iowa losing to them was definitely one of this seasons tragedies. Those losses are a great way to make sure the Sweet 16 ends up being out of reach.
I don't disagree but May did take Florida Atlantic to the Final 4, which I'm guessing will probably never be done again in our lifetime.
We're a 9 seed. If they played 10 times in the barn it would be pretty even with both teams at full strength. Sometimes you act like we're a 1 seed and we have no business losing some games we lost. And in looking at the talent of this team Ben did well to get them to a 9 seed.

Did Houston have any business losing some of the games they lost? Iowa State? UCONN? MSU? UCLA? Purdue?
Good hire for MN, but Gophers are such an afterthought around the Twin Cities. He has an uphill battle
I agree with the afterthought, but I’d still think they’d have far greater resources (NIL) than anything we see in Iowa City. Or at least should have more.
I also wonder if a few successful seasons would change their priorities when comes to sports. I remember their Goophers used to be a pretty big deal back in the 90’s.
