How can you remake the best bad movie of all time? The Swayze is rolling over in his grave. I'm sick to my stomach just thinking about it. Is nothing sacred?

Agreed. But, I think Bo Nickal would be better for this remake.

Remember when they remade Point Break? PSU95 was not a happy poster, and I think this was another of his favorites.

There WAS a remake in the works recently with Ronda Rousey playing the Swayze role. Not sure what happened to that.

Edit: I guess it's the same remake, but they recently decided to replace Rousey.

looks like with Jake....
In the original “Road House,” Patrick Swayze starred as “Dalton,” a bouncer in a small town bar in Missouri. The reimagined version of the cult classic will feature Gyllenhaal in a similar role to Swayze’s as a former UFC fighter based in the Florida Keys.

Hardly the best movie of all time. Not even in the top 200. That being said, it is fun to watch. And, a remake will be like the remakes of Ghostbusters. Flop! Flop!Flop!

Didn't someone try to do a Dirty Dancing remake? I'm not saying the original was a great movie considering all the eye rolling moments it gave me. Still, trying to remake a Swayze movie apparently isn't a good idea.

She's no longer the baddest girl on the planet, so producers were fortunate they changed course (she looked like a good bouncer in Expendable but...).

Reminds me of Stallone's huge error (imo) in casting Antonio Tarver for Rocky 6. By the time the movie came out AT had gotten his clock cleaned... and he hardly looked imposing physically (although he did knock Sly out during filming). And yeah, I enjoyed the movie even if I didn't get the AT part of it.

EDIT: I forgot that was Jake in the movie Southpaw and I'm dissing him unfairly. He can at least look the part... but he's still too slow to be believable as capable of winning a fight with CM. However, he can match up physically, so that's a very positive note. Still not thrilled about them re-doing this classic lol.

Rousey would have had the Swayze hair rocking. Not sure Gyllenhaal can get there.

Kurt Russell was the king of the Great bad movies of all time. Big trouble in little China and used cars are 2 of my favorites.

Are we really expected to believe JG could beat CM? In the original they used Marshall Teague who was a relative unknown to those outside the martial arts world and was not as physically imposing or recognizable as C Mac is... it would be very difficult to imagine Jake matching up on any level... imo, of course.

Well, CM is 5’8” and 155 pounds. JG is 6’ and 170 pounds. Not sure how “physically imposing” CM is . . .

I just don't get it. What are you going to do with this movie to make it better? It is what it is. Mistake IMO.
