I was wondering what would happen with the Derby this year. Only a month and a half away. I’m not a horse guy, it doesn’t the timing really affect the training of the horses?

Absolutely. All of the prep races are run in March and April. Also 3 year old colts are much different developmently in September than in May. June would not alter things as much.

Actually it would be a Better Derby if postponed to the Fall. Reason being some of these 3 yr olds are really young and haven't developed yet.

My sister and I were wondering about the Derby’s fate yesterday. There was a stakes race yesterday in Arkansas, but I would think it unlikely by early May you’d want to have an event involving 100,000+ spectators. I would think the Indianapolis 500 is in jeopardy as well.
