I'm not sure anyone worth listening to has ever denied the existence of it. Isn't the only real question surrounding the topic more relative to cause..."what part of it is man responsible for?"

Of course it's real. Anyone with an iPhone can google and see the satellite pics of the receding ice caps. Only deniers I've ever talked to haven't wanted to to be real for economic reasons.

I think the bigger question is "when is Shane Lyons going to do something about it?"

That's what keeps me up at night.

20,000 years ago Chicago was under a mile of ice. The real question, has life there improved? Climate has always changed, the sun is the main cause.

I hope I'm not becoming the Blue Lot's resident lefty... But it sure seems that way lol.

Which is kinda ironic because I work for a Republican-backed media organization and all my coworkers are Republicans. All I do is cover domestic politics from a republican point of view & cover the energy industry (primarily with oil and natural gas). I guess it's natural I talk a lot of politics here because that's my day-to-day job. But if it bugs people I can just taper off a bit. /endrant

In case anyone wanted to know what I look like, well here you go:

He recently told me he hasn't been posting because he doesn't wanna jinx the season we've been having (we all have our rituals I guess) lol but that he'll be coming back in the offseason. Which is good because his renovation pics were awesome over the summer.

Are you saying we've never had ice ages? Before there was SUV's? Again, how did the ice melt that was a mile thick where chicago is now? How many ice ages have we had? Do you even know? They all melted and not one cave man suv was ever used.

"There have been at least five major ice ages in the earth's past (the Huronian, Cryogenian, Andean-Saharan, Karoo Ice Age and the Quaternary glaciation). Outside these ages, the Earth seems to have been ice-free even in high latitudes."

Was man around to cause these Ice Ages ?
No.

Will man ever cause an Ice Age ?
No.

Is this all bs ?
Yes.

Through my job & traveling through coal country the one thing I learned is that those people's minds are made up. Coal is not only part of their identity, but their family's identities over generations. For those type of voters the one thing you can hope for is an increase in either the price or demand for natural gas so those displaced workers can find new work in a similar industry since I can't see a scenario makes the type of comeback that puts all those miners back the way it used to be. The market has shifted from one energy source to another and I can't see it flipping back.

Which from a climate change perspective it's undoubtedly true that natural gas burns cleaner & more efficiently than coal.

For anyone to think that billions of people aren't affecting climate change is being ignorant to how things work on this planet.

There is a reason bee's are dying off by the trillions and there is a reason the oceans are warmer................

Ans: Very little if any.

It's all based on computer models several years out that never prove correct (that's why they changed the name from "Global warming" to "Climate change"). Hell the climate is always changing, so the fraudsters can claim it whenever it does! Nice.

Yet we can't even predict the freakin' weather from one hour to the next!

Amazing how the only solutions to it also always involve less Freedom for us and more Big Government spending? This from the same folks who can't even balance a budget.

They're going to "control" our climate?

Please.

It would help if the biggest advocates of "climate change" (Obama, Dicaprio, Gore) weren't flocking to these conventions and pow-wows in commercial & private jets that contribute to the supposed problem far more than Billy Ray's jacked-up Dodge.

Climate change must not be that important if the environmental whackjobs won't sleep in the very bed they prepare for others. Meanwhile, the fabrication of bunkers by these elite numb-nuts has made survival outfitters exceedingly wealthy. I thought it was the inbred preppers that were supposed to be the crazy ones.

It is a sham created by Liberals
I mean, it's a yes an no situation. Is the earth warning at an expontential rate? Yes, but that's not th controversial part. It's whether human-induced carbon emmissions are the issue that's exacerbating the warming of the climate. In many ways, both sides make valid points depending on which data one values more than others.

My only association is with reality.

We need to outlaw automobiles so people don't die from other people talking on cell phones while driving; need to outlaw guns so crimminals in Chicago no longer have a supply and stop killing each other; need to outlaw coal cause puts off more carbon than the manufacturing process that creates windmills and solar panels; need to outlaw farming and the timber industry cause its the biggest polluter of the streams; need to outlaw football cause it is causing serious unnecessary injuries and driving up health care costs..... its all real, do a little research.

Bees and stuff, huh?

You know, there happened to be this crazy book from a while back that talked about the mass decline and subsequent extinction of an exorbitant amount of animal life.

SPOILER ALERT:

It's not Saul Alinsky's "12 Rules for Radicals".

Why is it people want to label people liberal or conservative by what they think on climate change?

I'm not freaking liberal and I believe climate change is a real issue that needs addressed.

Elon Musk is so convinced its real he feels we need to colonize mars.

Why do conservatives hate Saul Alinsky so much? He was such an effective organizer many conservatives adopted his values for galvanizing would-be voters both independent and republican alike

Color me extremely excited and worried. When last I read the UN's Report it indicated there was a 0.82 degree Centigrade increase in the earth's temperature from 1880 to 2015. Now less than 1 degree Centigrade is something that gets me really worked up.

Let's start terraforming Mars now so we can all have a more pleasant place to move all the humans.

Because Elon Musk, for all his education and innovation, thinks he can outrun something far larger than him. By the way, Stephen Hawking beat Musk to the punch months before by putting a shelf life on Earth's sustainability.

This world ends when something far larger than you or I decides it ends ... and hitching a ride on Musk's Jetsons spacecraft ain't gonna help you or he outrun a certain account we're all gonna have to make for ourselves one day.

Far more real than what people are perceiving to be real.

By "Conservatives", do you mean political Conservatives or SOCIAL Conservatives?

I am the latter. No time for politics. I always write in "Pizza Party".

The Ring Wing and the Left Wing are wings off the same wretched bird. The whole system is designed to fool the gullible masses ...... intellectually dead and spiritually dead .......who don't understand they have been watching Kabuki theatre for the past half century.

Hate to break it to you but our government loathes its people. News at 11.
