i really don't get it for proposals. why the hell would you actually propose if you didn't know the answer was yes? the compatibility test should take place wayyyy before the engagement or even before the ceremony. i knew on the first date, that it was the right gal. my wife did the same as well. the rest was just a ploy so i could buy her some bling bling ;)

No doubt! I would have told her we are going to a ball game and then dinner afterward to celebrate our wedding engagement. The only mystery of the night would have been when/where she was getting the ring. The if and answer would have not been in the equation. I actually think it was the right move on her part to turn him down instead of just faking a yes answer. He sounds like a clueless stalker that may not take no for an answer.
