Just had to give this a thread of it's own ... NOW.

5 hours into it, Alcaraz and Sinner have played the most epic match, and it is still going on.
5th set
Sinner - 6, Alcaraz 5, Alcaraz serving to hold his game.

This kind of elite level, next level performacnces by elite level and next level players in the world, competing for an elite prize and tournament and giving elite effort.... it deserves to be singled out. Greatest French Open men's final I have ever seen. Sinner withstanding his apparent cramping, but the highest level of shot making I've ever seen in the longest french open ever.

... and dammit, boy, doncha know Alcaraz has made it 40 - 30 and looks to be holding.... will it send us to a tie breaker ?
WHAT A RETURN ! Sinner saves it !
and alcaraz goes up Advantage once again ... and of course, it's going to the tie breaker ...

go check it out.

Must see gamesmanship talent and effort. truly an epic match.

it ain't over yet !

Alcaraz won in truly an epic sporting match in major championship history. It was seemingly impossible to think he was going to win this. From tweo sets down against the number one player in the world. Sinner was equally incredible.

Alcaraz was just a little more creative and tougher at the end.

Incredible !

Congrats .... and he just turned 22 ! :)

That was one of the funnest matches I’ve seen in years. Alcaraz pulled some incredible shots out of the hat.

Looks like Men's Tennis is got another good rivalry. Nadal and Alcaraz back to back great Clay guys and both very good on all other surfaces. Sinner no slouch at any surface worlds #1. Did not watch this one live but got the highlights on youtube.
