We need to recruit that kid, put him on this year's team, and if we play Duke again send him out to shake hands with Banchero.

That kid's high school career should be over.

This must have been Illinois with those Casey's things on the floor. No it was Carlisle, Iowa. Carlyle is Illinois.

Number 10 must wrestle.

Puncher looked to be the smallest guy on his team going after the biggest guy on the other team. I guess people can be a lot like chihuahuas and Jack Russell terriers.

This made me think of the Fitchburg Forearm from a few years ago. I figured this guy got arrested for this, but I guess not? Maybe because there's a grey area as it was in-game? In some ways this was worse and was even more on the lines of a sucker punches.

The kid went to jail?! Damn they could’ve suspended him from school or kicked him off the team or gave him probation.

He assaulted another student and that student had to receive medical help. What happened to the idiot is just what should have happened.
I’m not saying he didn’t deserve a punishment of some kind but to start throwing kids in jail over a fight just seems a little over the top but I haven’t read any story about it. Was the kid that got punched hospitalized?

Have a feeling this is the first arrest of many for this little turd. There’s no acceptable excuse for this kind of behavior. Should he receive the death penalty? No. But he should face prosecution for assault. A sucker punch isn’t a fight with two willing participants. It’s a violent, unprovoked attack on an unsuspecting victim.

Terrible take, that kid deserves to be arrested as that was 100% a crime. Just imagine it being your kid getting sucker punched…

How does one go about getting probation without getting arrested?
As a minor you get assigned a CDW and receive a court date. Then at the court date you receive your punishment such as probation, class, community service, etc.

I didn’t know the kid who had been punched had a concussion. If it were my kid I’d hope he’d get up and beat the **** out of that little ******.

Did you watch the video in the first post? You can plainly see in it that the kid got knocked out by the second sucker punch. It would have been much worse had the kid fallen to the ground and not been caught by his teammate. It also would have been worse had a teammate not immediately wrestled the puncher to the ground to prevent him for hitting the defenseless kid more times which you could tell that further punches were going to be thrown.

I only saw a clip from when it was originally posted where the kid got punched twice but apparently he was punched a third time and they all piled up. I didn’t know about that.

Well the second punch clearly knocked him square out so that’s a concussion.

FWIW... Rumor is the punchers sister has down syndrome and the tall dude was making fun of her during the game....
Still doesn’t excuse two sucker punches. Square up and take him on. I have a cousin with Down Syndrome and don’t put up with anyone talking bad about her but I’m not going to sucker punch anyone. The kid still broke the law.

Disagree if that’s the case. When you go after someone who can’t defend themselves you deserve whatever you get.

Origin

A grainy video has surfaced that does in fact show a player "sucker punch" another player in the handshake line. This has been portrayed by several internet sites to be a recent occurrence. It is actually home video footage taken by Grayson Allen's grandmother at one of his Junior Varsity games.

According to the grandmother, the other boy had been taunting Grayson all game by sidestepping or jumping over Grayson's attempted defensive trips.

My JRT would take on any size or kind of dog. Pit Bulls, German Shepard’s, or any dog was not allowed in our yard.

Also, I had a best friend(RIP) who wrecked some dudes face in a basketball game for making fun of his brothers condition. Wasn’t pretty. My boy could throw them hands.

I agree. If that's true, I think the guy deserved to get his *** kicked. But we can't act on feeling that way and go all vigilante.

If it's true about his sister, then you tell the ref it's going on. If it continues you punch the guy during the game. Sucker punching after a game is always a chicken ish move.

Just passing on what a guy that lives in eastern Illinois said they were hearing. He sounded like they were like Louisville and Jeffersonville IN.... They kinda keep up with whats going on. No idea if its true but he said that was what was going around his town.
