I made the mistake of watching the video of the prisoner being set on fire inside a cage. Its extremely graphic and I wouldn't recommend it. These are some extremely vial individuals we are dealing with here and its a stretch to even consider them human. I just pray we find a way to eradicate this group and others like them before this kind of barbarism hits our shores.

I hope this post stands but I feel it needs to be said…. The
people who do this want to establish a master religion on the world much like
the Nazis tried to bring a master race to the world. It's sick behavior that
won't end without a major confrontation… That's all I will say here.

It'll take more than this unfortunately. It'll take the will of the American people. Once this takes place, nothing can stop us. Until this, nothing will stop Isis.

I think at this point the American people have the will. I just don't think the government does and its unfortunately going to take another 911 or worse before we decide to take decisive action.

Well we definitely don't agree on this one. The will of the American people are still divided. Once it unites, it doesn't matter what the govt wants to do. Meaning elections will change this.

Yes I agree its somewhat divided. However, I think ( or hope) at this point there would finally be a majority that understand we must protect ourselves or we are going to suffer a major attack.

Dude, you are either young and ignorant of facts or just flat out ignorant of facts. Obama was not even born when this crap began. He, like you, and the Muslim countries are products of their environments.

One would do well to believe the opposite of what one sees/hears/reads in the media.

Nah, this country is short on memory, long on apathy and indifference.

If you recall, the days following 9-11, 95% of the folks were effectively pissy, rightwing, fanatic tea party warriors whose collective revenge was palpable.

Sadly, it will take another strike, with heavy casualties on American soil again for everyone to 'get it'.

I probably should have just locked this thread, but I'm tired of locking decent threads because one or two posters crap on it.

I'm leaving it up, devoid of all the rule breaking religious stuff and if need be, I'll lock up the rule breakers instead of locking up the post.

gsxr, you know better. If you can't help yourself, stay out of the thread. I'll expect you'll abide by the forum rules.

Yankees, you as well. Ignore it in the future. Mike and I will take care of it.

It's been a busy day for me on top of having what I imagine to be a combination of the flu, bubonic plague, pneumonia, bacterial meningitis, and SARS. I'm going to bed early. You gents behave.

I think it will take more than Americans united...it's going to take other countries and peoples, probably something more like a modern day crusade, to eradicate ISIS...it might also take some help from 'normal' Muslims, if indeed, any can be found...

an answer to your question medic.
technically didn't wear "helmets," but leather "flight caps" that covered the head and ears. These kept the pilots from getting too cold or going deaf while flying with their cockpit canopies open

At least you knew who the Nazi's were and what country they belonged to. Way too many people just see "muslim" or "middle eastern" and lump them all together. Sad.

There may have been some casualties involved as any replies to a deleted post also get deleted. I apologize for any innocent bystanders, but the religious arguments had to go.

It's a good topic, but one that can go down the political or religion track with ease. I'll be patient with it and see where it heads.

Way too many, for sure, but probably not a "lot."
Crazy opinions stick out like sore thumbs, so everyone hears those people loud and clear.

However, at what point do the statistics become the face of an organization?

If there are 1.6B Muslims and an estimated 3,000 ISIS members, which I assume would all kill innocent people, that's 187.5 millionths of a percent. If 3,000 have joined ISIS though, let's guess that 10-100x are in the wings waiting around the world. Now, we're talking about 0.002% of a group that would be willing to kill innocent people including mass terror.
At what percentage do you draw the line in the sand? 0.2%? 2%?
2% is still an extremely small minority of a group, but that represents 32M people, and only 0.2% is still 3.2M people!

The US military is 1.1M people.
The Chinese have 2.2M active.

Eh, Debou, it was uh, friendly fire, collateral damage if you will indulge.

I know how you feel.

I've had some of my best, epoch shattering missives capriciously removed like that before.
It does sting a bit.
I'll grant you that one.

I'll add I don't recall specifically removing any post by you Debou. If your post came as a reply to a post I deleted, it is also automatically deleted. Nothing I can control.

Sucks, but it's the way things work. I'd like to be able to delete only the post I'm trying to delete, but nobody asks my opinion...

I don't think he is totally young and ignorant of facts or just flat out ignorant of facts. Obama may not be at blame for the terrorist ISIS and similar terrorist organizations. But he is directly responsible for our current policy towards ISIS and other terrorists organizations. I blame Obama for our lack of any kind of strategy to deal with this issue. We essentially flying blind with zero leadership from the White House.

We have opened up our borders allowing anyone to come across the boarder into the US. We are extremely vulnerable to the same kinds of attacks as happened in Europe in the last two months. In my view we are just sitting by and watching as if we have no dog in this fight. We do and we are going to pay dearly in the future for our policy failures happening to day.

By the way, I thought the days of referring to others opinions as stupid and ignorant were past. Evidently consistency is not necessary. I distinctly remember being chastized for a comment on a gun thread not to far in the distant past.

Gotcha. No big deal though. It was just a link to the article saying Jordan is severely pissed off. ISIS opened a can of worms they are going to wish they hadn't if they don't feel that way already.

This could be WW3. The world vs. ISIS

I'm not an isolationist, but can't the parties directly affected take care of this themselves? Tired of the US having to run and save every single foreign country on the planet.

I know it's short sighted -but with 3 sons between the ages of 17 and 21 I don't care for any more world wars anytime soon.

Well even if the guy was serious, he is prolly laying blame on Obama for allowing ISIS to rapidly grow and expand, and become a legitimate threat during his administration. Surely nobody with a lick of intelligence can blame Obama for the extremism that exists over there, and like WNAS said, Obama wasn't even born (or very few of us for that matter), when this Islamic extremism and terrorism was born.
