I heard the two songs played side-by-side and although there are some 'slight' similarities, I don't think it was close enough to uphold the claim that LZ stole or copied the song.

Funny, I was a Spirit fan also.
I thought it ridiculous it was pursued 40 years after the fact.
Should've never gone to trial.

Edit...in a way I understand...Stairway
has generated 500 million in royalties.
That's an obscene return.
Quite a few lawyers made a living for many years on this one. I followed the trial as much as possible. It would have been fun to be in that court room.
