OT- Madden 18

So I preordered the "Gold" edition Madden 18 a couple months ago for me and my son. By preordering it we got it a few days early . Just downloaded it a bit ago. The graphics are amazing and so far it seems very very very good. I thought 17 was brilliant but this may very well be better.

Any other madden fans ? Anyone else have it/ or getting it ?

It set me back $100 or whatever it was, but toyed with it.

Also- do you guys have Xbox or PS4? Xbox one S here - if anyone wants , maybe trade gamer tags ?

I'll get the regular version when it comes out. The gold edition really gives it to you this early? The regular version doesn't come out until the 25th.

I know the graphics are supposed to be quite a bit better on the Frostbite engine.

Cool. I knew the premium version gave you early access, but I thought it was just a few days early. I didn't realize it was a few weeks early. That's not worth the extra $40 or whatever to me though.

You also get like a temendous amount of "coins" or whatever with the gold edition . But ya it is pretty pricy regardless

Man, I wish. Had a blast playing those in college

They stopped making NCAA football and basketball games a few years ago. A damn shame ! Plus, even if I got the older NCAA games that were on Xbox 360- they WONT play on the Xbox one unlike 90% of other Xbox 360 games (majority are backward compatible)

I bought the gold edition a few years ago when it came with a code that allowed you to stream Sunday ticket even if you weren't a DirecTV customer. I was happy to pay extra for that.

All I can find is the standard edition and GOAT edition (which is only available 3 days early) online. So the "Gold" edition lets you play right now? How did you find it, on the Xbox online store or what? I'd gladly pay an extra $40 to play now.

How are you playing on the 19th? Maybe it did already download- I'll have to check again.

That being said I'm looking forward to the "longshot " story thing AND having 3 "ways" of playing - simulation, arcade and competitive.

Also, the new passing mechanism looks to be pretty awesome. They've added/ tweaked a bunch of stuff that looks like it'll really add to the game.

I misspoke - I ordered the GOAT edition- which you get the 22nd. Yesterday however , I noticed (and got a notification) that madden 18 was downloading/ downloaded ( I pre ordered it like over a month ago)

You know I used to play competitively. Was top 100 in the world 2008-2011. Oddly enough it was my dorm rooms *** wifi that got my interest to dwindle. Used to spend 100s of hours figuring out nano blitzes. I still get it every year but I play around 100 games online compared to the 500-800 I used to play. My mom told me yesterday and I haven't played in months so I need to see if I can jump online and find some good blitzes lol. Haven't played in months hoping I can recover my stick skills. My team in madden this year is probably the packers love their offense. But you really can't go wrong with the falcons, pats, steelers, cowboys, and even the Seahawks.

Still have a 360. I'm thinking of finally pulling the trigger on upgrading to a new system around the holidays. Madden will be one of the first games I buy for whatever console I choose (Leaning PS4). I owned a copy of Madden in some form (SNS, PS1, N64, PS2, Xbox 360) from 1993 to 2015.

I'm not bothering with the 360 version of Madden this year because hopefully I get my hands on the new ish and they've stopped developing it. It's Madden25 with a roster update.

I'm probably gonna keep the 360 for NCAA Football 14 and College Hoops 2K7. I still play them from time to time at the start of college football and basketball seasons. I sim a lot more than I play in both (The graphics in 2K7 look like a PS2 port.) UK is a two sport powerhouse that every school in the NCAA envies and fears in MegaLand.

I like that this year they have added three game modes- arcade, SIM, and competitive. Meaning arcade where you can play it like you could back the snes days where you just throw the ball deep and get it, etc. Sim, where it's more realistic, and competitive for the big time players that play for stat points
