Wake Forest fired Danny Manning today. Manning had 1 winning season and 1 NCAA appearance in his 6 seasons in Winston-Salem. He was a good recruiter but never mastered defense (IMHO). Deacs could score but couldn't stop the opponent. His team did beat UNC and Duke in Winston last season, but finished a dismal 13-18. Which is better than finishing 8-23 I guess.......

Surprised it took this long. The program has been moribund for years, ever since Dave Odom left. Frankly, for all the hype of the ACC, they have some lousy bottomfeeders, like Wake, GA Tech, BC, and Pitt and Miami have been stinking up the joint, lately. I'm also an ND fan, in addition to NU, and I miss the days of the Big East. IMO, the Big Ten is the best conference year-in-and-year-out. I think the rise of Rutgers under Pikiell will solidify that, and if NU can rebound, there will be no question about it.

Where does ND rank in their conference?

6th which is better than 13th. 20 wins is better than 8.

You pick some strange things to constantly rail on.

He always looks for the subtle jab at Fitz, Collins and/or Phillips. Super passive aggressive. One of my least favorite posters on the board.

They must have someone prominent lined up in order to make this move in the middle of a pandemic.
