Pitino suspended 3 of his players 2 years ago for tweeting sex tapes. At that time he said:Vanity searched his name on twitter and it’s a rabbit hole. Pitino’s really do redefine “win at all costs”.
You can go back to the early 70's when Luke Witte got the snot beat out of him by Gopher players and fans on the verge of losing to OSU in Minneapolis. Ugly incident.Seems to me there were a few criminals playing for Tubby back in the day, and didn't they get put on probably around the turn of the century? Must be something in the snow.
He was active but not suspended. Very controversial at the time!!!Fitzphile, you forgot about Dave Winfield. Very active in the brawl as I recall. Switched sports and became a baseball Hall of Famer! All is good!
Suspended from university until Aug 1, 2020.

How the hell can he practice with the university's BB team if he's suspended from the university?Oh, and was stated during the game today that Lynch will still be able to practice while appealing his suspension. Considering the track record of the Gophers Athletic Dept through the years, you would think they would tell him to do without basketball for a while, even if it was a he said/she said. JMO.
Thought the statement from the university said that he would be able to practice with the team. Has that changed?Maybe he's practicing on his own?
Insane. Pitino should suspend him pending resolution of the appeal.Willy, you and I are understanding it the same. While appealing, he can practice with the team (unreal as that sounds)!!! If appeal is denied, THEN AND ONLY THEN he's gone and can't be on campus. Meanwhile, I'm sure that makes coeds and their parents feel real safe.
Like Father, like Son.Looks like he changed his mind on culture and doing what’s right:

Also, a troll. He couldn't have been more accurate. He's just a basketball coach.
Wait, were you saying Pitino should suspend someone or be suspended?Insane. Pitino should suspend him pending resolution of the appeal.
Why wouldn't he? And likely the suspension from the University is also on hold until the University rules. Sorry but he has rights also including due process. Until he is convicted of something or UMN actually rules, his rights need to be protected also. He has not been convicted of anything yet. Not being allowed to play in a game is a different matter as the coach puts together the lineup and if he plays and charges are upheld, they would likely have to forfeit the games he played in.How the hell can he practice with the university's BB team if he's suspended from the university?
He WAS "convicted" otherwise he could not appeal......Why wouldn't he? And likely the suspension from the University is also on hold until the University rules. Agree. Title IX isn't about due process. But it is the way Universities discipline students. You accept the scholarship you play by their rules.Much as I feel the idiot should be banned for life, convicted at colleges doesn’t mean Due Process was followed, or even allowed.
OK, he was suspended from the university but not from the BB team. Just how is that possible. A coach can choose to play you or not and can choose to let you on the practice floor or not as well. He can sit you if you came late to practice or didn't run a play that was called, thus a guy who has three woman accusing him of sexual assault and had at least another accusation at his previous school needs to sit during games and practices until the investigations end, period. Why wouldn't he?
