Anyone else catch this game? Wow, what a finish! Glad to see the underdog take out the 'invincible'! Kind of reminds me of Duke/UNLV in 91 and 92.....
I woke up to MSU hitting a buzzer beater. I first thought this is the worst April Fools ever but then realized it was true!No April Fool's. OFC
Okay, I liked, then had to unlike your post b/c of the rest of it, but yes, I agree w/ the bold, that he was extremely magnanimous in defeat. This is big for women's basketball..I can't believe it still..geno is such classy guy too anybody hear what he said after...just listening to him talk gives me the impression he's the goat ...I'm not to sure he didn't want to lose lol...I don't think he likes just dominating every year and always winning the title ..well im sure he wants to win the title but u know what I mean..he wants his girls to always have a little adversity at least while there!! How u gonna teach if u always win reguarless how u play! Lol Cuz life's gonna have a lot!! class guy got a lot of respect for him..y'all know what I'm trying to say ...

It must be something in the water in Storrs... he and Calhoun can both be so prickly, and that's something that has often influenced my opinion of each one more, and w/ Geno, in particular, I don't like how he has taken so much of the spotlight in wcbb from Summitt, who really put it on the map and deserves it a bit longer (that's not really a knock on him, of course). But then he says something like he did last night that's so gracious and wise and a teachable moment and it's hard not to respect him.

Flagrants are always questionable when a player wasn't even looking, but I have no issue w/ looking at it 30 seconds later. It just happened to be in the last minute or so in the game. What were your thoughts on the flagrant foul being called and being called 30 seconds after it happened?
Also, what did you think about the officials not calling anything when UConn had the ball with the shot clock off and drove with 12 seconds, running into a defender (either a block or a charge) and throwing it up but getting no call except for out of bounds (MSU ball)? Bizarre. Felt like a makeup call for the flagrant.
I don't buy that using losses as teachable moments from which to grow means anyone retroactively wanted to lose.
Not exactly what I mean ...youve never let somebody beat u at something say ur kid? Not saying he let them win ..just saying he sounded like he doesn't feel all that bad letting somebody else get a little shine once in a while ..he has won like how many nattys...as for losing I disagree ...you learn by making mistakes ..nobody's perfect their whole life ..ur missing the point ..not all about basketball ..learning how to cope recover get better stronger......nobody goes through a perfect scenario ...adversitys good for these kids while they're being groomed and being guided ...prepares them ..not saying he wanted to lose in the tourney ..came out wrong...pretty much all I'm saying is he's a great mentor and coach ...can't spit out exactly what I'm trying to say lmaoI don't buy that using losses as teachable moments from which to grow means anyone retroactively wanted to lose.
He still didn't let someone else win, but I get your point: It's easier to accept the occasional loss when it doesn't happen often. Not exactly what I mean ...youve never let somebody beat u at something say ur kid? I will say geno and that program is as about as close to perfect as you can get though ....
I thought that was the normal call - no block, no charge, no travel...see UNX vs Arkansas. What were your thoughts on the flagrant foul being called and being called 30 seconds after it happened?
