Not an Apple fan, but I'm guessing you're going to see more of this as makers move to shrink the bezel. There's certain things that will take up space that will not allow a screen. Front camera and sensors that you see and other stuff that has to go somewhere. Check out the Essential phone on another take.
Not a huge fan of how the Essential Phone looks either, although I think it looks better than the iPhone. I think the iPhone X looks kind of stupid, but we'll probably see plenty of platitudes from tech media about how incredible the design is, since Apple could slap its logo on an actual turd, and most tech media would fall all over themselves to talk about how incredible it looks.
When it comes to the "all screen" look, I think Samsung with the Galaxy S8/S8+/Note 8 and LG with the G6 and V30 did it better. There are still bezels, but they are miniscule, and they make it so you don't have those goofy looking cutouts.
As for the other aspects of the iPhone X, I think it's funny that it has all these "incredible" features that have been around on Android phones forever. OLED display, wireless charging, facial recognition; all been around for varying periods of time on Android.
I've always found unibrow girls quite attractive.

I am an Apple guy. I think the new phone looks nice. I won't get it since I don't use smart phones. Just an old flip phone. It gets better reception out here in the mountains of eastern PA.
But I think it is funny how people get all proprietary and defensive about their tech gadgets and how superior their favorite brand is over others. This Apple vs. Android/PC debate is almost tribalistic in the heated emotions I have seen it bring out in people

Exactly! I have an S8, but who gives a F?! At the end of the day, it's still just a phone.
