Link to Northern Lights webcam in Churchill Manitoba. Most clear nights have been very good this season. I think the lights show up around 9pm or so eastern. You can always scroll back to see if you missed something.

When I was a child I thought the Northern lights was Jacksonville.

It's freezing cold in many parts of the US. But due to something the sun emitted the other day, the chance to see the Northern Lights tonight is pretty high.

Per the below article, the states with the best chances of seeing the NL are:

• Washington
• Idaho
• Montana
• North Dakota
• South Dakota
• Minnesota
• Wisconsin
• Michigan
• Maine
• Alaska

But the following states also have a chance at viewing the NL:

• Oregon
• Wyoming
• Nebraska
• Iowa
• Missouri
• Illinois
• Indiana
• Ohio
• Pennsylvania
• New York
• Vermont
• New Hampshire
• Massachusetts
• Connecticut
• Rhode Island

Best of luck in catching them (supposedly, the best viewing time is 10 pm - 2 am) if you are in any of the aforementioned states.

Thanks Tom. Also dont strictly depend on your eye. use your smart phone camera. It can pick up the colors and shifts better than your naked eye, especially if your are not in a prime viewing area.

Yes. Last summer we could see them in PA. You couldn't see anything with your eyes but you could with a phone picture. Perhaps they are just that faint here or could be light pollution.
