Edit: Ok, saw on ESPN he is suspended. Good for Freeze then but he really had no choice.

The OP saying "skip" made me think otherwise, but it would help if I 1. read the article and 2. read the OP's 2nd post in thread. I'm hungover and tired people :p

It will not effect his draft status one bit, he will still be a top 10 pick

It hurt Warren Sapp...went from a Top 5 to 10 selection to around the teens.also it hurt Randy Moss..went from Top 5 to 8 to 21st....in the days of Clowney and Manziel teams are much more cautious...

No it will not , GMs get paid big money to draft the best player...a college kid smokin a little weed is nothing...just ask warren sapp. Had it been a domestic violence issue then yes. But not smokin a little weed.

And it hurt him in the 1995 NFL Draft...he dropped as did Randy Moss in 1998 due to off the field issues...didn't hurt their careers as both had Hall of Fame caliber careers.

And in his case even after Spurrier warned everyone the Texans still took him...their loss that they didn't take Khalil Mack-(whom many had as the best player in 2014)...Sharrif Floyd of the Florida Gators had a similar issue in 2013...most had him going in the Top 10...fell to the mid 20s to the Vikings due to rumored off the field issues.

Clowney still went #1 , so again how was his "draft stock" hurt?

It didn't...and if you read what I said about him and Manziel IMO teams will be even more shy about players...here is what is said by NFL Scouts on Nkemdiche from CBS Sports...it also Hurt Randy Gregory last year...Went from a Top 10 selection to the 2nd Round....NFL teams ain't playing anymore...from CBS NFL Draft Expert/Insider Dane Brugler after talking to a couple of NFL Scouts:

Nkemdiche is currently ranked as the No. 12 overall prospect and top defensive tackle for the 2016 class by NFLDraftScout.com. He is viewed as one of the top talents available, but his off-field decision-making and on-field fit have been questioned by some scouts, which could push his value to the mid or later stages of the first round.

“He's a wild card,” said one NFL scout.

“Boom or bust guy. He'll need a strong locker room and position coach,” said another NFL scout.

Neither scout would elaborate much further, mostly because it's still very early in the process. Now that Nkemdiche is officially part of the 2016 draft class, teams will dig deeper to figure out what makes him tick.

Last weekend, Atlanta police discovered “approximately seven rolled marijuana cigarettes” in a room at the Grand Hyatt that was connected with Nkemdiche. After fleeing the scene, the Ole Miss defender fell from a wall outside the hotel and was listed in stable condition at the hospital. Scouts had questions about Nkemdiche's off-field decision-making prior to the incident so his arrest and suspension will only further put him under the microscope.

Last year at this time, Nebraska pass rusher Randy Gregory was viewed as a possible top-10 selection. But after a failed drug test and questionable interviews, he slipped to the bottom of the second round where the Dallas Cowboys drafted him 60th overall.

Public is right. Gregory was a top 10 talent and dropped due to weed. Also, several prominent GMs and ESPN analysts have said that N's problems go "far, far deeper" than this most recent incident. I never heard why they said that but apparently there are other things that will drive him down.

Nkemdiche and Joey Bosa are the two most talented players in this class but Bosa not going to fall past the 3rd pick...Nkemdiche could fall down to the 10-15 range but it would not surprise me if he fall even further...just see the top 3 players as of now being selected are OT Tunsil out of Ole Miss, DL Bosa out of Ohio State and QB Paxton Lynch out of Memphis.

But if N can clean himself up some NFL Team is going to get a steal...

Was a top 5 pick! Now he will go between 10-15, unless the Cowboy's keep up their good vetting!

The biggest drop ever due to off field concerns was LSU Offensive Tackle La'el Collins....went from a Top 15 Overall pick to undrafted last year...now a starter for the Dallas Cowboys.
