Y'all hear about the fortunate folk that scored the Lombardi sweater?

They found a West Point sweater from long ago in a thrift shop. Paid 58 cents for it.

Upon doing a little research, they found Vince Lombardi in a picture taken when he was on the West Point staff wearing the same sweater.

Sure enough, his last name was written on the tag inside the sweater.

Cool score.
Paid 58 cents and they estimate it will fetch $20,000 in the auction it is now in.

Luck be a lady, tonight.

Heard about that on Mike and Mike this morning.

I'm headed to the local thrift store now to see if Bud Wilkinson left a marked pair of undies around I can score a profit on. I'll be looking for a pair that appear to have been worn 47 straight weeks.

That just sounds disturbing.

I've had a cold for a week and can't smell a thing so the experience shouldn't be to disturbing.

Then again if I'm sifting through skivvies with the initials BW, let's just hope they don't belong to barkingwater.

Like the old story about the kid that went to summer camp for the first time and his mother forgot to mark his undies, so all through camp everyone called him Fruit of the Loom. That joke is at least 56 years old because my best friend and I met at summer camp and we still refer to each other by that name.

Yankees, its good to have a friend for that long. But he does all kinds of stuff to embarrass me. He owned a small business that was basically a four man shop. I have always worked in the corporate world, but I can't tell how many times that he would call my office.....back in the day when we had secretaries answer our phones.....and ask my assistant to speak with Fruit of the Loom. They got use to him after a while. I never could get mad about it. It was too good a play. When I retire this summer, our first trip will be to visit the FOTL that lives in Lubbock.
