I guess since I got NET Flicks I dont have to PPV?

Also , if Paul truly talked bad about Tyson’s dead child as is being reported, I hope Tyson beats his brains in and teaches him a lesson.
Tyson in 5.

I "heard" the ad playing and I thought it was the guy who played Jesse Pinkman in Breaking Bad was fighting Tyson and thought WTF? I looked up and saw it wasn't Aaron Paul but had no clue who Jake Paul is and was mildly surprised to see that Tyson is still alive and functional at his age.

Cool basketball post. By acknowledging “OT” in the thread title doesn’t make it (or Vikings football) a T for the hoops board. Thanks.

It’s one big work. The scripted slap, 14 oz gloves and all. It’s a sparring session made for Netflix.
Yep, and the gullible American public is falling for it hook, line and sinker.

And then ESPN and other “real” sports outlets will act like an attention-whoring YouTuber has really accomplished something by beating someone who’s nearly 60 with health problems.

I will watch since I have Netflix but it’s a joke. Scripted outcomes and sparring session.

Bunch of rubes.

These fights have all been fixed with Paul, and the sports world is loving it because he's maybe the best Heel in 30 years. They schedule bigger and bigger fights with opponents who will gladly take a dive for a huge pay day, and everyone tunes in hoping Paul gets KO'd.

.. all that said, where can I watch?

They had to agree to the 14 oz. gloves so Jake Paul doesn't die in the ring. I think Tyson is in better shape now at 58 than he was at the tail end of his boxing greatness when he was getting beat.

Honestly I don't know what's going to happen, It's going to be fun to watch though. Tyson seems to be in fight mode and Paul has never faced an actual boxer. He's mostly had boxing matches against MMA or UFC guys. If Jake Paul is serious about becoming a champion, I hope Tyson knocks him down then leans over him and says "if you want to learn how to be a real boxer, let me train you" . Make a real life "Rocky" story out of Jake Paul.

It being scripted is my fear but why would Tyson work as hard as he has to get in shape. There is no need for him to work THAT hard for a gimmick.

He is looking pretty good in his workouts. We'll find out tonight.

I have to imagine he's going to make millions for this. I'd skip rope for a bit for that sort of money.

This sort of ties in with McGregor, and why he'd ever agree to a boxing match with Mayweather, an all time great still very much in his prime. Aside from Connor landing a punch that just so happened to ring Floyd's bell, there was almost no chance Connor was going to win that fight. It was just a matter of how long he could hang in there.. and he actually won the first few rounds before Mayweather just wore him down.

Connor apparantly earned nearly $130 million for that fight... and it appears a lot of his MMA fights earned anywhere from a few million to $50 million for his fight with Khabib.

So it's clear the type of money at stake here for a boxing match, win or lose.

They are doing two minute rounds instead of the normal three minute rounds. I am assuming this is an attempt to keep Tyson from having a heart attack and collapsing in the ring. Shorten the rounds by 1/3, do 8 rounds. That screams concern for Tyson's health. Yes it is a carnival type set up, very little "real" to it.

Ever heard of selling the fight ? If he is on camera all fat and bloated, not many people are going to watch. PROMOTING, it is huge in the fight game. As much so as the fight.

It’s estimated that Tyson will will make at least $20 million …and possibly close to $40 million …off this shameless spectacle. The better shape Tyson looks like he is in the more people will be tempted to click it on Netflix tonight. And more views equals more money. THAT’s why it makes sense for him to get in shape for a gimmick.

Anyone who thinks this event is about anything other than Netflix, Jake Paul and Tyson making a **** pile of money off the gullible public is hopelessly naive.

Mike is looking pretty ripped for 58 years old and if you follow him on Social Media and watch any of his training videos he is still pretty quick and hits like a mack truck for that age as well. Now is it enough to beat a man half his age? Maybe not but I will still watch.

I’d be interested in seeing Aaron Paul v Tyson. Even better might be Aaron Paul v Bryan Cranston in a cage match. 🤔

Jake Paul has faced a few professional boxers in his career, although I don't know how good they have been. Tommy Fury was probably the best of the 3 boxers he's faced and he lost in a split decision.

I know one thing...it has people talking about a boxing match again that normally wouldn't. Love him or hate him, Jake Paul is a marketing genius.

I think Jake Paul wins in the 2nd round.

Reports of 30M for Tyson and 40M for Paul. That kid is making obscene money to basically play-fight. smh

Hard to believe Iron Mike would take a dive. He was unmotivated and needed the paydays at the end of his career. Seems to be doing well financially now and frankly still being alive is shocking in itself. Hopefully they both have enough respect for the sport that really needs an injection of excitement back into it and take this seriously and let the best man win.

No, it's the opposite, giving Paul less time to get pummeled. the 14 oz. gloves are what get me. that was fully intended to keep Paul from getting his brains turned into mush. Watch Tyson's training videos. Dudes in serious shape for his age.

A quick search of him on TikTok or his Snapchat shows how much speed and power this dude still has.

ONE boxer (and I say that lightly with Fury, he has been boxing for 10+ years and only had like 6 "pro" fights, if you want to call them that.), the rest of his opponents have been washed up, non punching (grapplers) MMA guys or social media / you tubers. But everyone likes seeing a good train wreck, carnival or not, people love a good freak show.

If Tyson loses to this chump he really will fade into Bolivia.
He already is. He is near 60 freaking years old, hasn't fought in over 20 years. Even before he gave up boxing, his skills had diminished BIG TIME. Look at his last 6 or so pro fights, terrible.

He also fought Ryan Bourland (Golden Gloves champion, National Junior Olympian, and two-time GBO Light Heavyweight champion) and Andre August (10-2-1 pro boxing record). Again, not sure how good they were, where they were in their career, etc. but they were professional boxers and not MMA/grapple guys.

Agree with your last part...I can't wait to watch.

WHOA now, he fought the GBO champ ? I am a huge boxing fan (more so than UFC), I have never heard of Andre August, never. At least as far as rising stars or future contender circles. Maybe he fights on the bar or celebrity circuit, doesn't make him a TRUE boxing prospect. Paul has fought a bunch of harmless stiffs that was hand picked. Fury is not even a DECENT fighter, and he got ran by Fury. If he wasn't Tyson's brother, nobody would have ever heard of him. Fighting DECENT amateur fighters is NOT the same as fighting good prize fighters. List all of his previous opponents, I will be glad to break them down like a shotgun as far as future fighters to watch goes. NOT ONE fighter Paul has fought is even remotely a talent.

This. I think a lot of people have forgotten just how bad Tyson looked near the end of his career. He was basically forced into retirement out of embarrassment after he got his *** kicked in back to back fights by a couple nobody tin cans named Danny Williams and Kevin McBride. He looked totally washed up in his last few fights ...and that was when he was still in his 30s.

So if he looked that bad back then I don't know why anyone would think we're gonna see the ole "Iron Mike" again a couple decades later when he's nearly a friggin 60 year old man.
