I did see the Souther, Hillman, Furay Band many moons ago, I cannot remember who else was on the bill that evening. My memory says they were chill and laid back, solid performance, let the music speak for itself Type of evening. RIP

Except that offstage it was entirely different. The guys could barely talk to each other.

John David was a good guy. May he rest in peace.

here is their biggest hit. It's like they sound sort of like the other Laurel Canyon bands but only their B sides. Plus they ended up having all kinds internal strife including drummer developing schizophrenia........

Excellent song writer…singer. Saw him in concert years ago….was quite good. He wrote for many….The Eagles….Linda Ronstadt….James Taylor etc.
My 11 year old is a big Souther fan. In fact, I had no idea who he was until my son mentioned him.

I hope he’s strumming “New Kid In Town” up in heaven today.
