Pitino was on ESPN today with Jay Bilas. He denied any involvement , stating he had passed a lie detector test.
He blasted U of L Board of Trustees

He feels exonerated by all the support from his friends and players

Time will tell

If Pitino passed a lie detector test when denying involvement, that means he's either Sargent Schultz or a sociopath. Whichever is the case, it doesn't reflect well on him.

Agree. And even if he "knew nothing", the buck stops with him. Hookers and payments to players by his staff? Please. There have been enough problems with his program to warrant the University moving in a different direction.

Just once I'd love to see one of this guys say, "You know what, even if I wasn't directly involved in all this crap, it happened on my watch and I'm responsible. I should have resigned, not waited to get fired."

Pitino should be paraded out on the public square and slapped senseless, just on principle.

When (not if) ever Pitino develops a conscience over what his program does or has done regarding violations under his watch AND then he assumes personal responsibility for those transgressions, he will hop on his flying pig and travel straight-away to that private island he just purchased with the $38M he was handed by Adiddas for "services rendered" as outlined in his personal services contract with the sports apparel mogul. Don't hold your breath. Besides, "Deny, Deny, Deny" is an appropriate tactic to take to keep future b-ball employment options open - as he can claim ignorance of the whole sorted affair. After all, he has 3-4 layers of admin and support staff buffer between himself & the parties who actually aided & abetted those violations.

Wonder who administered the test and what the questions were!

Pitino had no clue this was going on? That is like 10,000 times worse than Jose Canseco, Lance Armstrong and Roger Clemens saying they didn't take steroids while they were actively doing so while playing. Will he confess someday like to save his soul from eternal damnation? Pitino is supposed to be a devout practicing Roman Catholic. I would love to be a fly on the wall of his "confessionals" with his local priest. Does the guy have no conscience whatsoever? No responsibility? Stupidity? To be clear though, what the hell does he care? Sure- his reputation is screwed now. But what is he worth now with all the years of making his money as a coach, 200 million? If I were he, I'd melt out of the mainstream and start drinking heavily on some caribbean island. Maybe he'll float out into the oblivion of some other controversial hurricane.

If you were ME, how much money would you need in the bank and at what age would you recommend this same plan? (Note: I have not committed any NCAA violations.)
