NU didn't even offer. A 4 star Point Guard according to some services. With Scotty's ties to Chicago, and Doug Collins???? no consideration???? Geez.

Grades, smarts, one of the best ball handling skills. But Vandy snatches him. C'mon Collins make it happen!

Vandy and NU don't have the same academic requirements. It isn't even close.

Let’s not act like Pippen jr. was a big National recruit.

For whatever reason, we weren't even in the hunt. We have zero PG abilities right now. Admin slaps Collins on any Top recruit. And Pippin played for Doug. I just figured the network and relationships would have meant at least some interest. Now I'm thinking no love lost between Doug and Pip, but yea, of course all we are doing is assuming on here most of the time.
Bottom line is that NU Admin doesn't need to ask us to fork over $1,500 a ticket in the lower bowl just so we can watch the Washington Generals. I'm definitely moving up to the upper bowl next year for $350 a ticket, and I'm not the only one, so there will be opportunity for some of you to fork over thousands to sit in the lower bowl.

We’ve got Taylor Battles brother coming in next year and if he’s half the player of his brother I’m going to absolutely love him.

What solid evidence do we have about Vandys admissions compared to ours for b-ball players?
My daughter works in the Vandy admissions office, after getting a Masters in Eduction from NU. It is a fact that Vandy's admissions standards for athletes are much less rigorous than NU's.

Did she also work in the NU admissions office? I tend to believe it with Vandy in football given SEC football culture.

It known that Vandy, Duke, N* D* and others have very low standards for athletes. NU and Stanford stick to higher standards.

lathon got in to NU - but we know how that turned out

Boo I believe he is averaging over 30 points a game in a good quality prep league. seems to be a competent ball-handling guard with the ability to pass, shoot, and get to the rim

I’m real high on him and Taylor Battle was one of my all time favorite B1G guards, so it’s pretty awesome to have his brother come here.

He and Lathon are probably proof that this three stars or four stars stuff mean very little. In many cases the rating depends on AAU ball, etc. Coaches recruit players who can play in their system. Bryant MacIntosh was rated 200+ and we all know how that came out.

I sure Lathon a 3 star would have done quite well here.

I'm not sure where the admissions rumors are coming from besides it being the default speculation on guys NU doesn't get in on. More likely explanation is that SPJ is a late bloomer that has only looked like a legit P5 player in recent AAU play, quite possible Collins and his staff haven't attended tournaments SPJ has been playing since they don't recruit the west coast heavily, whereas Bryce Drew has been more active on the west coast scene

I pay 12 bucks for Comcast. I can't even watch this team. Ever since Ash went down, this team has been nasty.
