My computer loaded a Malware program that erased my Chrome home site. I'm stuck on internet explorer until I can figure out how to get rid of it. The last time this happened I had to re-run my disc and it erased my history, pictures and favorite sites. It also erased my security system( Norton).

I have tried going to my tools, etc, but nothing works. Anybody have an idea before I take it to the shop?

Get this one and run it. I'd run it in Safe Mode. Press F8 repeatedly while Windows is booting up.

I don't know what operating system you have, but the newer ones, (Windows 7, 8, 8.1, 10) have "restore points" where you can restore your computer back to an earlier date. You probably have 3 or 4 restore points going back into August.

Here are the steps in Windows 10.
Type "restore point" in search or help.
Click on "create a restore point".
A system window will pop up, probably titled "System Properties"
Click "System Restore".
Click "next" in the pop up window until you see the 3 or 4 restore points with dates.
The rest is self explanatory.

An optional suggestion for sometime in the future:
Have someone uninstall Norton and turn on the free and built in Windows Defender in Windows. That is all you need for anti-malware and anti-virus. And it updates automagically. It is really good protection. You can do it yourself if you search Google for the instructions.

Good luck.
