I saw a thread about this on RR, so I thought it would be fun to start a thread on here. What are some streaks or records that you think won’t be broken. I list some that I think won’t be broken

Joe Dimaggio’s 56 game hit streak
Pete Rose’s career hits total
Cal Ripken Jr’s consecutive games played streak
Wilt Chamberlain’s 100 point game

A couple of Duke related records

Coach K’s Career wins (With Coach K’s grandson playing as a walk on at Duke, he’ll probably be coaching at Duke for at least 4 more years unless his grandson decides to transfer or quit playing basketball in college) so he should add anywhere between 80 to 140 more wins to his career wins total which would probably put him somewhere between 1240 to 1300 career wins. If he were to end up somewhere around the higher total of 1300 wins then for a coach to break his record for career wins a coach would have to average 20 wins per season for 65 seasons, 25 wins per season for 52 seasons, 30 wins per season for 43-44 seasons and 35 wins per season for 37-38 seasons

Duke’s non-conference home wins streak

The most unbreakable record is Cy Young's 510 wins.If a pitcher won 25 games a year for 20 years,he's still come up 10 short! Honorable mention,Secretariat's 31 length win at the 1973 Belmont Stakes..

Since this is a men’s basketball board, I think it must be mentioned....UCLA’s 88-game win streak in the early 70s. We might never see 50 straight wins again.

Orel Hershiser’s 59 scoreless innings pitched streak. That’s unfathomable.

How many consecutive cuts did Tiger make in the PGA Tour? Wasn’t it 140-something? Yeah, it will never be touched.

This one is a little obscure, but I know it because he was with the Wolves at the time. Michael Williams made 97 consecutive free throws in the NBA. Back in the day you had a lot of guys who could hover around 90% at the line and take a run at it. Not today. It might not be untouchable, but it’s close.

Since I mentioned men’s basketball, I feel obligated to acknowledge the ladies. UConn’s women’s team won 111 straight games. As if that’s not impressive enough, they also own streak of 90 straight wins and 70. Pretty amazing.

I had completely forgotten about the UConn Women’s 111 game winning streak. I just looked it up and they also hold another another winning streak. They also hold the record for 126 consecutive regular season wins.

That Coach K won total breakdown is nuts.

Yeah I kind of just went with a “what if” scenario with that breakdown. At bare minimum Coach K will most likely add 80 wins to his career win next total over the next 4 seasons if he coaches that many more seasons and it’s not a total stretch that he could add up to as many as 140 or so more wins to his career win total.

Just about every MLB career pitching record is safe. Strikeouts, complete games, innings pitched, starts, base on balls just for the simple reason todays pitchers just don't throw that much anymore.OFC

Michael Phelps' total Olympic medals (28), total gold medals (23), and total gold medals in one Olympics (8).

Usain Bolt winning the 100 and 200 metres in three consecutive Olympics.

FSU's total appearances in the college world series without a title (aka there's a hex on Mike Martin).

unc's blown assist season total
