Looking like it is setting up for a good finish on FS1. ANY road win would be a good win for Rutgers, even though it is a so-so St. John's team. Also, one the the best announcing crews in the game giving it an early season "big game" feel....

I have lost respect for Tim Brando after listening to numerous shows on Sirius College Sports station. He is a whack job. But Bill Raftery is a class act, brings back memories of the original Big East. Credit to SJU for making the come-back, Mullins has an entirely new team.
Whack job or not, heckuva play-by-play man. Hope this crew will announce one of OUR games in the not-so-distant future! Hoping that Chris does well-- he was already such a legend when I was growing up in Brooklyn that, when it came time to pick the high school I was to attend, I could list three choices. I listed two--Power Memorial and Xaverian-- just because those were Chris's schools (and Chris wasn't even at St. John's yet!). I ended up attending a different high school, but that's a whole other story...later ended up doing some public address announcing for for Xaverian basketball games, even though I had no connection to the school
Raftery was still paired with Lundquist last year, right? Or is Lundquist dead?
Raftery is the drunk uncle we all had, but the cooler, weirder version. Worth catching the start of his games, just to hear ' in ..... man-da-man'. You know, because it's his catchphrase.
Lundquist is doing SEC football with Danielson. The main reason when I watch those games I have the sound off. Shills for the SEC.
Verne is not dead, but he was not paired with Raft last season. Lundquist worked with Jim Spanarkel on the tournament while Raftery was moved up to the #1 team with Jim Nantz and Grant Hill.
Also, Lundquist works for CBS, so he can't work with Raft on any of these FOX/FS1 games anyway. Once CBS starts covering college hoops this season you may see them paired up on a regular season game or two.
