A lot of my favorite artists made (obviously in my opinion) their worst music in the 80s.

And a lot of the artists in the 80’s made their worst music in the 70’s. Some bands get better as they go and some get worse. The 80’s offered the widest variety of music of any decade ever. The decade started off slow (80 and 81 being the two worst years) then crushed it the rest of the decade.
