Now Kevin Garnett's name has come up. He played in one of those poker games with Billups. They haven't said if he was being played or was a player.

Seems pretty stupid for all of them. Not like these are broke guys.

Why do I think it's possible that this could be what the Bengals have been doing for decades now?
That could be true. However, a couple years ago in the AFC Championship game (IIRC) against KC, the Bengals got absolutely SHAFTED! The officiating was downright criminal. No doubt in my mind some NFL referees AND NCAA referees are on the take and have been for a very long time!

I think they already know the big fish, the four major crime families were involved of New York. The old school ones too. Gambino, Luchesse, etc..

Hard to believe these were the only celebs involved in the games though. I mean Terry Rozier isn’t a big time player really to most Uber rich people. Maybe a LeBron Type, Kawhi, Giannis level player. I can’t imagine Billups was the only player or biggest one alone in this with Damon Jones. Most people don’t even know Damon Jones.
Being said that Lebrick is one of the players listed in the indictments, player 1, 2, 3, etc. Can’t remember exactly what player number he is in said indictment.

The poker games have been going on since at least 2019 with Billups.

Supposedly some dude with a podcast said publicly in 2023 that Billups was participating in rigged poker games.

So this is not news to a whole lot of people.

Yeah they mentioned Damon Jones selling his injury information. I don’t think he was involved directly.

I will believe and do believe there is corruption going on everywhere in every sport. It’s turned into entertainment, which is what the NFL defines itself by. They can literally rig the games and can’t be in trouble for it because it’s essentially the same thing the WWE is on paper.

Even watching our games, so many things look so weird in the court like never before. I believe it’s going on everywhere. I trust absolutely no sport whatsoever anymore, minus maybe Hockey if that.

The NBA has been a sham for a very long time and it’s boring as hell. How anyone watches it is beyond me. Trash.

I love the NBA. I watch it almost every day.

I can’t watch college basketball. And won’t if Ky isn’t playing.

I mean there are people who do, obviously. It’s why they do that I don’t understand. No faces of the franchise anymore, no continuity, horrid attitudes that are widely unappreciative of their fans and (likely at this point) cheating, fixing, and corrupt behaviors taking place. That’s not even getting into the style of play which has no excitement. I really just couldn’t find a way to like it. The political nature of the league in part has caused an issue too, although I think it’s paired with other issues.

Years ago it was a great league. Now it’s a downright bad product and I think it’s safe to say most who used to enjoy the NBA now don’t. Their viewership has been ripped in half. I’ve seen some numbers that say since 2010 the recent playoffs are down 50%. That’s unbelievable.

So while it’s a free country and you are most definitely free to enjoy it, it seems the popularity is down massively from past years. I really don’t play attention to it anymore and haven’t since 2018ish, so if something has changed recently I wouldn’t know.

I’m still laughing that a dude who made over $100 million dollars playing, and was an active NBA head coach, is fixing poker games with X-ray glasses.

You can’t make this stuff up.

I know. It’s just unbelievable.

You couldn’t make a movie with that script. No one would have thought it was possible.

And throw in the mafia too??

😜

This is a huge deal!!

Tip of the iceberg moment.

This investigation/sting has been going on for years.

This is going to be far more than a black eye for the sport.
Yea, I have a hard time seeing this ending at Rozier and Billups. I’d bet a LOT of current/ex players are involved. You don’t get multiple Mafia families working together for something small.

I'm going to cling to the hope that the PGA Tour/DP World Tour are still fairly legit. Maybe pro tennis too.
