Just heard that. 57?
Pretty youthful age really.

I never was a gushing fan but the guy had some massively righteous guitar chops.

I was a big fan and can say that my wife and I saw him at one of his last two performances, both held in ATL on April 14. An incredible writer and performer. Way too young to go out like this. 2016 is shaping up to be a bad year for musicians. RIP Purple Prince.

Got to give it up to the guy for always surrounding himself with gorgeous proteges.

Carmen Electra, Appelonia, Vanity, (she also passed recently) Sheana Easton...a bunch of others that I don't remember now.

The Little Red Corvette spun out in the Purple Rain. Can honestly say I agree with Section 225, No Merle Haggard but he could play a guitar

I was 8 when the great movie "The Last Dragon" came out. Vanity, "Laura Charles," in that movie was one of the first women I can recall that made me feel strange but excited in my britches.

From my perspective, it's been a pretty morbid year for all entertainment avenues. I've done some pondering as to why this might be, and I think it might be that I'm finally old enough to have been shaped in some way or form by most of those heading to oblivion.

Rumors flying he had aids. Other theories include the same chemtrails that killed Merle. The queen of England was behind it because of her ninth birthday.....A bunch of kooks out there.

Talented dude. Too much purple for me though.

It will be interesting to see the cause of death. What is amazing is with all the money folks of that fame have, they should get top notch medical care. Instead they often choose doctors who will cater to their every whim instead of the ones with amazing skill. Michael Jackson is a perfect example. I hope Prince didn't die because of negligent medical care.

Yep, that, to a certain extent got Elvis too.
Star struck Drs that become fawning sycophants. No way the King should have died at 42.
Plum ridiculous.:(

Hank Williams died at 29. I wonder how many songs he could have written.....

BTW guys, everybody has a different flavor when it comes to musical talent. No reason to argue. My favorite pop star was Tiny Tim..............;)

What's wrong with Tiny Tim?

IMHO, Hank Williams greatest tunes were recorded under his Luke The Drifter moniker. (I included "IMHO" this time so that nobody flips out).

"Luke the Drifter" was a poet. I flipped out when you wrote that.........:)

I loved the "Tim" in the Dickens classic......Wait, wrong answer.....HA!

A couple of guitars......I had his full collection at one time. I wasn't as lucky as WNAS was in his Houston flood. I lost my whole collection in a Catoosa flood. No reason to answer, I loved Luke, but Hank will always be the KING. JMO, in case....HA!

You lost a bunch of guitars in a flood? Heretic!
You do know you have an attic.
I know, hindsight is 20-20. My bad.
