Its happening people and Duke just got daggered at home!
Crazy that the tribute concert will be in a Soccor stadium filled with Wholigans and that Bengals QB Joe Burrow wears #9!
Things are progressing just according to my specifications! Bwah ha ha ha!!!

“Who” Dey?!

Just looked up who's replaced Ox and Keith.

Holy crap.....they've got Pino Pallidino on bass! WOW. Talk about a badass. WOW.

Ringo's son Zak is their touring drummer. No idea what his chops are but that's obviously very cool connection.

I'd love to go but I'm sure the tickets will be well in to the hundreds and out my price range. I can't ever justify dropping that kinda dough on a concert.

I’m 70 and seeing The Who in Cincinnati on 12/08/75 is the greatest concert I have ever seen !! It was four (4) years before the tragic concert on 12/03/79. I was twenty (20) feet from the stage, on the floor, between Entwhistle and Daltrey … I will never forget it !!

Pallidino is fabulous and has played with The Who for years … so has Starkey, who is also a helluva drummer.

Here is some of Pallidino’s best bass work … KILLER bass line that makes the song !!

Saw The Who in Vancouver pre-pandemic. My second time. First was Freedom Hall in the early 80s. Loved both shows. Townsend is a surly funny old dude. Daltry was great. Still awesome.

Saw them in Yum a few yrs ago...still awesome. Roger has obviously lost some of his power on certain notes, but he still has enough to warrant a stage presence.

Starkey can hit the sticks big time.

I saw the Who in London at Wembley Arena in 2000. Great show. Then I saw them again a few years later after Entwistle died in South Florida. Still great, but a little less so.

I'm sort of the opinion now that I've seen them already and however good they would be now (I'm sure they'd still be pretty good) would pale in comparison to how they used to be.

BTW, I understand that this current tour features a full orchestra, and that has less appeal to me than their usual raw sound.

That is pretty much my opinion of all the rock stars of that era who are still touring.

Some artists are adding strings these days and it adds something to specific songs. The Eagles did it at MSG when I saw them 2 yrs ago for their Hotel Cali reprise and it was pretty cool when the orchestra would come in on certain tracks.

I am DOWN for this! My experience seeing aging musicians on Youtube/live is that they age like fine wine. Especially the guitarists like Joe Walsh, David Gilmour. Of course, I want to believe that because this young musician will be fifty soon ;0)

First time I saw them was the Cincy concert in '79. Saw them a couple of years later at Rupp. Both great shows, although almost exactly the same set list. Guessing the '22 tour will be 90% the same list, too, so I can pass. Saw them when they were within a few years of being in their prime. 40 years later? I'll pass. Still like a lot of their music, of course. As Tsk said, seeing way past their prime bands trotting out the same 40+ year old songs just doesn't appeal to me.

I saw them in Yum Center a couple of years ago - they were excellent.

Open the show with Who Are You - not many bands can open with an all time classic and roll from there.

I saw them at the Yum Center 3 or so years ago. Zak was outstanding. Keith Moon was his godfather and Kenny Jones taught him to play. Pete was still spry and in good form. Unfortunately, Roger's voice has faded a bit or maybe it was the fact that Roger almost died a year earlier and the tour cancelled. I am sure that it will be worthwhile.

Damn I'm jealous. I'm mid 30s, musician. So I'd still love to see Pete and Roger. Probably going to be my only chance in this lifetime.

I'd love to see some of these acts before they pass but I can never afford it when they come around. Missed McCartney several times, missed the Who several times, missed the Stones several times, missed The Police reunion :(.

The closest I've been is U2 twice and Springsteen once.

The most consecutive windmills I ever saw PT do was in 1981 during WGFA in Germany:

Go to 6:15

if you count the mini mills at the beginning and ending of the sequence its exactly 25.

Rock and Roll is epitomized by Daltrey's strutting and PT’s windmills here!!!

I’ll be there . On the floor(pitch?) , stage left , section J, near front.

Im sure it will be pretty special for fans and the band being welcomed back to Cincy. Pete and Roger have already said as much.

I was skeptical of the orchestra backing also, but they did it on their pre COVID tour and it was mostly pretty fantastic. Plenty of good YouTube videos out there.

Will be my 11th time seeing them. Check my Avatar, it shouldn’t surprise anybody here😎.

You must be part of the Who fan club as I thought tics to the general public do not go on sale until tomorrow.

In his heyday I don't think anyone ever enjoyed being a rock star more than Pete Townsend or at least performing on stage anyway. Looked like the guy was absolutely living his very best life

I think Roger even enjoyed it more.
