Since somebody is crazy enough to bring up the Bulls, let me add this to the mix about our favorite father of a coach. It comes from KC Johnson's mailbag yesterday. For me, it's one of the bigger examples of how nutty things are in that organization.

The only person I still have respect for in the Bulls organization is Doug Collins. I believe he should be used to find a new general manager and get a real NBA coach. Do you think there is any hope of this happening? — Tom H.

According to multiple sources, Collins and Boylen had a falling out. Boylen, the sources said, no longer wanted Collins sitting in on coaches’ meetings. Collins is in the background for now.

It's remarkable how bad the Bulls "organization" has become. Gar, Pax, Jerry continue to sleep on the job. What do Gar and Pax have to do to be shown the door? Kill someone? We know choking (Vinnie) years ago brought Pax no repercussions.

We have seen Jerry stick with people way too long after their usefulness from Krause to Kenny Williams. But at least both won championships. Pax? Nada.

Two things...

* Doug Collins, for all the criticism he gets (and I'm one those who has criticized) was pretty dang effective at taking not very good teams and then....pow....making them good. His issue, and Reinsdorf was right about this...was not being able to take a team from good to great.

* Of great concern in the KC Johnson article is, something to the effect of, the Bulls are now ok with introducing those elements like data that allow them to compete in today's bball.
