OT: Why don't women post on sports message boards?

Now I'm not talking about our great Senior Sooner, but she is one of a kind. Has anybody noticed all message boards are dominated by men? Nothing wrong with that and maybe some unknown posters are women.

I have several relatives from the opposite sex that love OU. Some of them admit to reading this board, but none of them post.

Just wondering, is it the back and forth we sometimes engage in?

Not so sure they aren't correct...yet I have watched my wife read fiction novels for 3 decades...which is worse?

I would bet that women don't even read, much less post, messages here on Soonerscoop. Let's face it, there is only one Senior Sooner.....and she is a breath of fresh air here. I wish I could meet her and talk football for at least one hour. She is the board's crown jewel as far as I'm concerned.
I view the board for the UConn women's basketball team where there are plenty of female posters, although the number may not comprise a majority. The civility is overwhelming. No battle lines are drawn, no pissing contests, no ego trips.....the interaction is as if the posters are face to face with each other, just wanting to talk about the team and exchanging opinions....and (gasp !) even speculating on the team's issues.

A good number of women post on HoopScoop when is a board about Big Twelve women's basketball, and on OU Hoops Women's Board, not so many on the men's. But, they are discussing something that pertains to them, women's basketball, a sport that did not exist at OU when they were there. It is interesting that the women don't get involved in ego fights. The men do.The women have as much knowledge about basketball as the men, and many played it a lot more than did the men.
