Talk about perpetual construction, I-95 in Philadelphia area.Interstate 70 in St. Louis has the shortest merge lanes anywhere, brutal.
Columbus can be hard too, around the German Village I70 has been under construction since Earle Bruce was coaching.
The stretch of I-4 west from downtown Orlando to it's termination in downtown Tampa is one of the worst stretches I've driven and that includes the 405, I-10 from LA to I-15, and the Dan Ryan in Chicago. There are so many stoppages for zero reason with people (many of them tourists) having no idea how to merge or which exit they're supposed to use.
Has it ever improved? Curious since I may be making that drive for an early game this year. Also, young PSU fans will never know the frustration of driving from Harrisburg to State College on a football Saturday, especially a noon/1pm (remember those?) start. Extra strategy had to be employed to hit the narrows at the right time and hope there wouldn't be any accidents to make it even worse.
Shorter than US 30??Interstate 70 in St. Louis has the shortest merge lanes anywhere, brutal.

Dallas, everything is a toll road and mandatory driving speed is 90 and also must switch lanes relentlessly.Interstate 70 in St. Louis has the shortest merge lanes anywhere, brutal.

And this, Ladies and Gentlemen, is your Portland Cement Crack of the Week. Most tight par 4's, especially those with trouble left, where I'm forced to hit driver.
Anywhere on I-95 north of FL.Interstate 70 in St. Louis has the shortest merge lanes anywhere, brutal.

Quick story....my Dad got sick in 2009....so I retired from real estate and banking to care for him. After he passed my wife and I went to truck driving school and drove together. My wife was great driving as long as it was not raining, windy, night time, up mountains, heavy traffic, didn't need to exit the interstate, etc! Anyway...somehow she got herself onto the Belt Parkway....and smack in the middle of the 6 lanes...of course she started to freak out and pulled the air lock levers for the tractor and trailer...I had to scramble out of the bunk, jump in the driver's seat and start moving! Needless to say some drivers weren't happy about that.Belt Parkway
I made the mistake of driving through DC on 95 on my way to Myrtle a few years ago. Who would think it would be a shìt show on a Sunday morning in mid July?I 95 from Fredericksburg, Virginia all the way up East Coast
Eh, you just got off at Mifflintown, went across the river, up 333 on the other side, by the train station, cross back over and get back on at Kish Creek. Sometimes it helped, and sometimes it took just as long, but at least you were moving. Also, young PSU fans will never know the frustration of driving from Harrisburg to State College on a football Saturday, especially a noon/1pm (remember those?) start. Fredericksburg and just a bit north... there seems to be a perpetual orange/red/black zone on my map app there. I know that was the area years ago when the snowstorm hit that people ended up spending a day out there.I 95 from Fredericksburg, Virginia all the way up East Coast
>>Most completely unconscious, out to lunch, just plain dumb drivers are in Dallas. I never once saw an overturned car in my life until I moved to Dallas and now I see one a month minimum.<<The worst traffic I've ever experienced was Mexico City
Most aggressive bat shiit crazy drivers are my home town, Boston

But it all honesty, I've never really driven in STL
Well, it depends on what time of day you're doing it and what day you're doing it. There are currently 4 chokepoints where you're down to about 25 mph or less for over a mile and that's without any lane closures or short merges. The one at 4/275 junction in downtown Tampa is pretty much an expectation because it seems that nowhere in the US now can two major interstates come together without it being a hogpile.Has it ever improved?
