I believe that when Texas went into the championship series with OU they were 100% certain that they were going to beat OU. There wassn't a doubt in their minds that they were to win.

Remember that the only thing better than a Sooner victory is a Texas loss, and in that case we hit the trifecta.
So does signing another pitcher from the portal today mean that Canady is not heading to OU. Was thinking OU had only spot to fill. Signing this pitcher will give OU a full roster.

It seems like a likely thing now. We still could use another pitcher. I hope it's the player of the year. But I think that's probably pretty unlikely.
I don't think 99.8% of anyone have heard anything. And I think there might still be a bidding war going on, Maybe Ms Canady herself doesn't know yer.
Not even Canady would provide the Sooners a clear path to another Natty next season. But Patty will rebuild soon.

If we can’t get her, I’d much rather see her remain at Stanford given the supposedly other schools she is interested in.

I am on the same page. FWIW after the pitchers PG grabbed from the portal already I doubt OU goes after Canady at this point. Maybe PG knew her asking price was out of range. Just my guess though

Just goes to show everyone its not about tradition or even winning. Its all about the money. She will help Tech for sure but not sure she can get them to the series.
It makes me wonder though what she was asking from OU, Tx, Tenn and other bigger serious contenders.
It was all about the bidding. But Tech is making more than a Canady investment. Their ability to attract better players just went up substantially. I don't know what teams in non-revenue sports spend on recruiting. but I'd imagine it might be more than we'd anticipate. I'd bet by second semester, that the talent on Tech's rosters goes up more than a little.
Tech’s new coach brought 5 or 6 of his players with him from Louisiana, a team that beat our girls last year. Canady is not coming into a bare program.
I wasnt aware he brought that many with him. Did he bring some of those P with him or just bats?
He brought 5 total with him from Louisiana. Pitcher, catcher, OF and 2 IFs. Adding in transfers from Oklahoma State, Washington and of course Stanford, Tech may be a force in the B12 next season.

I was wondering what the other teams offered her as well. I want to know how much everyone is getting paid. Is it a public record on how much they make? I'm so glad TX didn't buy her. No shortage of money there. They print their own. Anyone can be bought...lol
Also, I was told by someone I trust that OU offered Canady $400K. How come their is not a salary cap for college teams? How come this information is not disclosed on page 1 for all the world to see? This is why PARITY will never be possible unless the NCAA gets the money thing under control!
I agree. Tech is going to be poised to win the Big 12. Great investment too. Canady is going to generate a lot of hype/$ and set Tech up for future play. Great move for Taco Tech.
Lets face it, they are University employees these days getting paid to play the game they love. Student athletes dont exist now.
At least the Sooner gals won’t have to face her unless/until TT makes it to the finals next season
