No balance, all Hield.

Trends are powerful indicators. They've been right there for all to see.

Texas consistently attacked the basket ( seemingly 75-80% of the game) as their game plan. We, predictably, maintained our plan of consistent outside shooting (seemingly 70-75% of the time). It has been encouraging, though, that we've at least been going to the basket more in the last two games.

Yeppers, we appear definitely tourney ready.

12 rebounds and 6 points from 4 paint players. Says it all....again.
That's part of it.

You don't give much thought to both teams sticking with their strengths which was why UT blew us out. We had to be beaten in every phase of the game.

Buddy had the game of his life in the 1st half but, understandably, could not sustain it. Texas methodically attacked the bucket ALL game long and the results are obvious. Our one-dimensional play, once again, came back to bite us hard. It's trends, my friend.

Still maintain we are tourney ready?

Great post. That trend of us playing poorly when we don't get paint production continues. What are the odds? ;) As I've been saying, we are ready for a deep run if our bigs keep it up. They didn't today.

Again, it's much more than the paint and our big guys. Look at the post-game stats. They cleaned our clock.

They shot nearly 20 more FT's than we did. That's because they relentlessly attacked the bucket and we didn't. They took the higher % shots even with their smaller guards. And, they were without Ridley, their best big guy who has averaged a double-double/game on the season.

Hope you're right about out tourney potential. We just haven't shown anything of late to warrant such hopes, imho.

Some awful, ugly trends continue without interruption and at the wrong time of the year.

i can hear the ole ball coach now via post game interview. "We need to go back and figure out how to get better." his favorite tag line. No substance.

I did look at the post game stats. They looked the same as they did during our little slump. Whereas the last two games they looked like they did when we were #1 in the polls. 20 more FTs for the home team?? That shouldn't surprise anyone. Paint...it's the key to this team. .Stats back it up. We led almost the entire second half so not sure how they cleaned our clock. I suspect you may be trying too hard to defend a reasonable, but inaccurate position. At least you gave the POY credit today. ;)

Pot...kettle? We're both, for sure, stubborn.

Your analysis is emotionally centered. Mine, for a change is not. You mentioned stats. You don't believe they cleaned our clock in a blow-out loss? Really and truly?

When have I not given our POY candidate credit? His trends today were much, much better than recently. Just because I can be critical on a few elements of his game at times doesn't mean I am anti-Hield, down on Hield, or anywhere near.

I'm just trying to keep it real as I perceive it and as empirical data seems to indicate.

Lol. We led almost the entire game and should've could've put them away. We didn't. To say they cleaned our clock when they didn't lead in the second half until 3-4 minutes left is indicative of trying to defend a position or bash a coach or team. Don't think the latter's the case. Go back and look at the scoring and rebound stats of our big guys the last 6 weeks and chart them against a win or loss. You'll see it then maybe.

I'm more interested in cause and effect that the numbers go a long way in potentially explaining, imho.

You're using an antiquated (but feel good) anti-argument (emotional based) above that is prevalent on the Scoop especially if crimson roses are the only thing growing in their garden (must be the special manure used).

When we're on the better end of the scoreboard, ANY elements in a questioning performance critique - no matter the empirical data in support - is greeted by many with pffft! as in mike's "scoreboard", Plaino's "Longhorn fan" and bcsooner's "posters still like to complain even in a blow-out win".

But, whenever we're on the losing end (especially a blow-out loss) and faced with apparent explainable and, perhaps, undeniable evidence, emotional rationale (moral victory) - such as yours above and Plaino's "we're tired" and "we're just in a mild slump that will quickly pass" and bcsooners "our opponents are just too familiar with us" - is projected to marginalize what is most likely the objective, legitimate, and analytical answer to that which is/has been truly happening. The old "but we led most of the way" is pure denial, imho, in deference to reality.

Some just prefer the Kool-Aid while others seek real answers to pressing concerns.

The big guys are most definitely a factor. But, you seem to be dismissing the impact from the little guys which might be even more striking. We may be going South from top to bottom.

Why in the world would you bring up other posters IN OUR EXCHANGE?? Pretty telling. Check the stats. My guess is you already have. And stop being so sensitive when you're challenged. You said we got our clock cleaned in a game we led most of and that we played poorly in a win at #10. It's illogical.

Lol.

Bringing up others (as if you don't do it with Yankees and BW)? Simply general knowledge that the board already knows. Why so indignant?

Me, the sensitive one? I am a sentimentalist and nostalgic. You might be as right as you want to be. ;)

Me the illogical one? Ok. It's definitely possible. How 'bout you?

Texas had everything to do with it. Y'all got ran.

Garbage...we controlled the game until the 7 minute mark of the second half then went completely cold...

We did not play very well even to that point but were still up by seven...

Try watching the game before coming on here and making yourself look foolish...

Y'all controlled nothing. The game was about even...then y'all got ran. Stop with the overused "you look foolish" talk.

Bringing others into a conversation you and I are having as an attempt to defend yourself is a pretty crappy thing to do and a sign of insecurity. You're definitely trying to defy logic. And you're also taking this way too personally. I'm disappointed, but you seem to be on a mission. So I give. Our team sucks, Buddy is vastly overrated, and our half court game is killing us, sans a few lucky games including beating #10 on the road. Oh,and Kevin Wilson sucked as an OC. Now you're right about everything. Enjoy debating with yourself.

And, yet you post I'm the over-reactor. I'm the illogical one? I'm the one on the mission? Right.

You are offended that I quote what a Scooper proudly opines on a sports message board? When you quote one, It is most proper and respectful to give credit to the person of origin. By the above, you obviously disagree.

How did you make it thru college with all the papers one has to write? Lots of citing and referencing required, not simply requested.

Didn't mean for you to get all apoplectic. Walk away from the keyboard. I'm out.

Looks like Texas played better at the end of the game. Texas got a home win nothing else. See you in the big 12 tourney where you wont be at home.

What point are you trying to make, with the "at home" comment...because OU also won at home, but ONLY by 3. So um, neither team will be at home, but thanks for pointing that out.

Worst second half we have played all year. Had zero to do with the $hitwipes in asstin...

You must have missed the part with five minutes to go Shaka ordered the double team on Hield and OU didn't respond.

You had 30 points from everyone not named Hield, our bench had 26.

We shot a higher FG% and a higher 3 point %. You were out-rebounded at both ends of the floor.

We had more steals, less turnovers and less fouls.

So you and blh111 groping each other after this game? Good grief, yes, OU lost to a far superior entity known as the University of Texas...

We do not now or never will measure up to almighty Shaka and his band of fairy men...

Now finish jerking each other off and go to bed little boys...

You guys disappear for years after being dominated by OU and only show your mugs around here after a win in bball. You've become OSU fans. You're insignificant.
