I see how some of our players can play when given the chance. The Blackbears make our O-line look good. Everyone knows another SEC opponent would destroy our o-line and sack our QB a hundred times. Barnes would have about 8 yards for the game. I'm worried that our good players (the ones that get drafted in the first round) are going to leave. I couldn't blame them if they did. We have legitimate talent being protected by derelicts. Today just makes it more glaring.

I hope this game was a confidence booster for the whole team. They needed it.

And I have a PSA for all of you that could not find the game on TV: Just go on regular YouTube and search for "College Football Live Streaming" and you should find any game of interest. Someone is almost always "broadcasting" the OU game on their personal YouTube channel.

A win is a win. BV just ended another 3 game losing skid. He gets a shot at another with 3 tough games coming up and I don't see us winning any of those 3. It is what it is.

Missouri has been playing very poorly. If their QB is still out and the defense carries over the momentum, Oklahoma could very well get win 6. I would have to see something astronomical from us at Missouri to expect to even compete against what is (by expectations) a down Bama and inconsistent LSU.

One of the biggest blunders in OU history was kicking DG to the curb. The guy just wins football games.

How many times does this lie have to be repeated?

Gabriel left to test the NFL waters, didn't like his draft grade and in this uncertainty Oklahoma committed to Arnold.

I'm glad Gabriel is going to have a chance to compete for a title in his final season because had he returned he'd very likely have gotten hurt.

All speculation.
And nobody knows if he would have gotten hurt. Hawkins and JA haven't gotten hurt this season.

If we were getting Misery at our place I would feel a little better about it. They will be pumped when we play them at their place and will want to carve their name on our butts.

The deciding factor DG has said was he didn't want JA to transfer out if he stayed. When he entered the Portal everyone was surprised even BV said he didn't know. I doubt they did much if anything to try and keep him and thats just speculation by me on that. Anyway its over and done with.

And I mostly meant our fanbase kicked him to the curb because they wanted JA to be the starter even before DG left.

That i don't disagree with in regards to the fans but I don't think it was malicious. I think there was a solid understanding by all parties that DG was going to the NFL after '23 and it was all going to work out that way.

Yep sometimes things just work themselves out. I am sure Oregon fans are tickled he is there. Him too I imagine, they are rolling right now.

He may not have gotten hurt, but all 5 starting WR are, so he probably would not have same success hes having at Oregon

But how do we know they would still be hurt if they had DG throwing to them instead of JA? When a player got hurt the odds are that in that moment with a different QB that he throws it to someone else and the player that was injured doesn't get injured because that play for him never happened.

Same can be said if Lebby was still calling plays instead of SL. Lebby wouldn't call that exact play at that exact moment where the player got hurt and vice versa. Fate and all that I guess. We never know how things would have turned out different under different scenarios with different people. Wish we could, I would have never married my 1st wife. 😁

DG might have made a difference but not sure things would have been any different with SL as the OC. It is really all speculation on any of our parts. Right now DG is playing with a very healthy OL and receivers. Not the case at OU as we all know.

OU has just been bitten by the injury bug this year at the wrong time and it has reared it’s ugly head showing that the depth just isn’t very good.

Hopefully OU finds a way to beat Mizzou but they are not Maine so we will see.

Win or lose at Mizzou, I still have plans to attend the Bama game if I can get a ticket through the site I normally get them from.

Gabriel would have horrible stats with this offense. He did himself a service.
