DAY 3 @ the WCWS. Four games and each one sends a team home.

The two Texas schools first to go.

A&M got thumped by UCLA 8-2.

Baylor was down to Oregon 5-0, but scored 4 in the 5th after no hits before the inning. 5-4. The Ducks scored two on a bases loaded double in T7, which became really valuable when Baylor's 9-1-2 hitters loaded the bases with no outs in B7. But UCLA changed pitchers and she got three outs on 3-4-5. The tying run on with not outs. Winning run at the plate for 3 at bats, but nothing. Baylor goes home an 8-5 loser.

In the 3rd game of the day, the Pac 12 teams Washington and UCLA are scoreless after 4. The catchers here are really good. Huskies have had two thrown out trying to steal. UCLA had a runner at 3rd with one out in T4, but didn't score. Bruins batting T5.

The lady that hit it out on Parker in the 6th last night, hit it to the same place for the only run so far in UCLA-UDub. 1-0 Huskies heading to the 7th. The winner plays Florida tomorrow.

OU plays the winner of the next game, LSU v Oregon.

Washington beat UCLA 1-0 and will face Florida in the first game Sunday.

Interesting stat of the tournament. This is the 10th game in OKC. There has not been a lead change in any game. Whoever scores first, has won.

I don't know whom to pull for. I hate LSU. I hate Oregon. I think we'd maybe have a better chance against LSU, but I hate the SEC. It's a quandary.

Right now it's T4 and Oregon scored first and leads 3-1. LSU has 1st and 3rd and one out.

The Ducks beat Baylor 8-5 and beat LSU 4-1 in a game that didn't end until nearly 11:30. Of the 3 teams we could have played, this is the most difficult. Oregon has more speed than Baylor and their speed gave us problems. Hopefully a double header Saturday will slow them down a little.

Oregon has three pitchers that have started for them this season. They'll be a challenge.

Florida is the only SEC team left, and since they finished the regional, where they lost game six to Oklahoma State. In the Supers, they got Alabama. In their part of the WCWS bracket, they played A&M and then LSU.

A Pac 12 team might put a dent in those micro ERA numbers. We'll see. They play Washington at noon.

Go Huskies.

I believe you're right, but I also believe they will challenge us. I would much much much rather play the first game of the finals Monday night, likely against Florida, having only played one game Sunday, rather than two, with number two lasting til past bedtime.

Winning the first game tomorrow is a big deal. I hope UDub gives the Gators fits. I think they might.

I am pleased it is Oregon who we play.

They are overrated and the 4th best team in their conference. Arizona, Washington and UCLA are better. During the season Oregon lost 2 out of three to Arizona, and 2 out of three to Washington and 2 out of three to UCLA who shut they out twice.

Washington put them in the losers bracket in the WCWS and Paige Parker dominated Washington and she will do the same to Oregon. Washington's players are much better hitters than Oregon and Paige owned Washington who only got 3 hits off of PP.. Oregon has not faced a pitcher as good as Paige Parker is in an environment like the WCWS.

Our pitching staff depth is 5 times better than Oregon. . Their depth behind their starter is youth who easily could choke vs. OU in a pressure setting.

And yes, Washington will give Florida hell. The only thing Washington lacks is great pitching depth. They only have one great pitcher.

Baylor lost to Oregon but Baylor is a better team

I like OU chances against Oregon since they would have to beat OU twice but Oregon will not be an easy out. I think its vital for OU to jump out very early and seperate themselves forcing Oregon to play catch up.

I hope OU doesnt need a second game to clinch its place opposite Florida in the finals. Florida is a very cocky team but the team can flat out play ball on both sides. Like Plaino I hate the SEC but do have respect for this Florida team. They deserved their spot but other SEC teams not so much.

Unless Washington finds a miracle ( down 4-0 already) Florida is on there way to the championship series.

Florida has won every game this season when they've scored two or more runs. Four would seem to be a nice cushion.

It's funny. I figured that the teams who lost their second game would have an advantage over those who lost their first. But when I watched LSU last night, who only played one yesterday, they looked dead footed compared to Oregon, who sat Friday, but had already played in the morning, Saturday. The Ducks looked quick and sharp and better. LSU's defenders couldn't get a jump on the ball, defensively.

That's how UDub looks today. Just a half step slow. Playing four straight days, seems worse, that having Friday off, then playing two Saturday. They look a half step slow. I hope Oregon shows the same signs of attrition this afternoon. They have enough speed, and enough pitching depth, to make it tough on us, if they bring their A game.
