I’ve felt all along he won’t be back. “But no one is going to draft him” and I obviously get that thought process, but I sure hope I’m wrong.

He’ll make more in college than in the G-League and actually get to play in front of people and play and practice in nice facilities and be on television. It sounds like a no brainer to me.

I figure he will be back. It’s what a sane person would do and he seems to be of sound mind.

100% back. He is not even listed in the top 75 prospects. There is only something like 58 picks. What is it that some many posters fear he is gone ? I could see some anxiety if a few scouts said "he has some 2nd round interest" or "so and so may take at ** pick." OR if he was even projected to be picked. But NONE of those things has happened.

Cal PTSD. We saw a lot of guys dance out the door to the G-League, but I don't see Oweh doing that. I don't know if he's ever going to be an NBA player, so you might as well come back and make 3.5 million at UK.

100%! He’s not getting drafted with that broken J! However, I believe his outside shot will look totally different this upcoming season, so next year is almost a given.

Exactly, if there were millions waiting on those players to come back like there is now, they wouldn't have left with second round projections.

If that word that he's getting $3.5m in NIL to return, I'd say he's definitely back. The only way he isn't is if he gets at least that much in a guaranteed contract, which is rare for anyone not in the first round. I don't see him going in the first round - he needs to fix that shot hitch and work on a few more things. Even then, I don't see him as a first rounder ever. NBA journeyman perhaps from the 2nd round.

Cal’s whole business model was based one and done. A clog in the system would definitely hurt the sales pitch. A few guys that were first round have said they didn’t have a choice really to come back. I wonder if those that should have come back also had pressure to stay in.

In my opinion, this is the kind of moment the NIL will turn a guy from going pro to returning to UK. Oweh is a tweener kind of guy- has a great motor but lacks some of the tools to be a sure thing pro. So, he's testing the waters and that's wise. But he's likely going to get some uncertainties, a mixed bag of answers. If he goes to the NBA, he's likely looking at some time in the G-League, whether he's drafted or not. He's probably an early-to-mid 2nd round guy, just guessing. He's definitely not lottery and I don't think anyone will promise to take him in the first round. So, he's a G-league player for at least a couple seasons. OR he could come back to UK, make plenty of money this season, and all of that NBA stuff will still be there next year and will look pretty much identical to what it is right now. (or he might play his way into a lottery pick or first round promise) So, I think he returns.

I think he's coming back, getting feedback is never a bad thing. Even if he doesn't get drafted and were to get some kind of guarantee, wouldn't he still have a better deal in Lexington with his NIL agreement. He said he has never had as much fun playing basketball as he has here, his situation at Kentucky is too good to not come back his senior year. None of the draft boards have him going in either of the first two rounds.

What Cal players left early that didn't get drafted?

You forget... Cal wouldn't let them stay if they wanted to. He had to get players to the NBA as soon as possible.

If report is correct and he is getting 3.5mil then he will be back. He is not 1st round right now. Can come back, make some $$ and get ready for draft next year. Work on his game and make some cash, free room and board. Cant beat it.

The G-League doesn't pay 1/10th of what he will make in college. NO player will go the G-League route anymore. It is either guaranteed draft spot, or NIL payday. The are not leaving to play for $75-$100K

Hope he comes back but all it takes is for 1 team to have interest. 2nd round and a guaranteed contract I would be gone.
No guaranteed contract then try again next year.

You’re being logical. Unfortunately, logic doesn’t always predict the outcome. In years past, before nil, many kids would leave despite being an unlikely pick. I think the $ in college should, should, keep him at UK.
