I am pumped for this film. I loved the concept. My wife on the other hand not so much. lol

The first one is my guilty pleasure.

I could never suspend my disbelief long enough to buy into one of the primary plot points of the first one - that it took two people to operate the fighting robot. Besides, why design a robot to fight these creatures, that encapsulated all the inherit weaknesses of humans? There's a reason why tanks were designed in a manner that didn't require them to be bi-pedal.

I would think watching the first one would be important as it will explain why this has all happened.

Watched the first one with low expectations. Really liked it. The new one looks really bad. Maybe it will surprise me again.
