Paige last season had to pitch in every game leading OU to its surprise National Championship.
OU lacked pitching depth last season and Paige got no rest with all of the pressure on her. game after game.

With Lowery and Lopez .in the pitching rotation this will really help Parker in the regionals and the WCWS ahead. Nicole Mendes is also showing that she has the talent pitching. She looked great relieving vs. Baylor.

I feel good about our chances for a National Championship repeat.

Bull, the new RPI came out this morning. OU only moved up one spot, still behind Baylor. Passed LSU. But still way behind UCLA. At 12th, and only two weeks left, plus 2 or 3 games in the conference tournament, 8th is less and less likely. Baylor dropped to 9th, so they're also on the outside looking in.

If we end up on the road in the Supers, getting to the WCWS might be as tough as winning it. The defense cost OU game 1 yesterday. It's not as tight as 2016.

Minnesota is 11th. They play nobody else, but likely to win out. The rest are SEC or Pac 12, and unlikely to drop, even with losses. Too much SoS.

The thing the committee looks at is how teams are doing in the last month.
The two major polls in which OU is 8th contribute greatly to committees decision. (THEY ALWAYS HAVE AND WILL CONTINUE TO THIS SEASON IN MY OPINION).

The RPI which is flawed (the proof is OU just beat Baylor head to head 2 out of 3)
OU will be way ahead of Baylor in the polls...maybe even 5 or 6 or 7 places ahead.

The RPI is not the sole contributor to the committees decision.

Sorry my friend but what I said is reality from past seasons.

I ask you WHY DO THE ESPN /USA TODAY POLL AND THE COACHES POLLS EVEN EXIST???? YET YOU SAY THE RPI IS THE SOLE INDICATOR FOR THE COMMITTEE..

I do agree with the statement you said Plaino that the committee might feel that OU has an advantage with the Womans College World Series being in OKC.

Bull, at the time the committee published their first top 10, OU hadn't lost on over a month. We weren't included. We had an RPI of 13, a top 8 in both voted polls. Since then, we're 2-1 and now 12th in RPI with no top 30 team left to play. The only possibility would be playing Baylor in the tournament finals.

Every team in the SEC is in the top 32. Not saying they should be, but they are. Georgia hasn't beaten ANYBODY, but maybe The OSU. The Buckeyes are in the top 30, barely. But because UGa is in the SEC, they are overvalued. It sucks, but it is the way it is. UGa is last place in the SEC, but still top 30.

ESPN is talking about every SEC team making the tournament field. Georgia is like 3-18 in the conference with no top 25 OOC wins, and ranked 28th. It's absurd.

But forces are at work.

WHY DO THE ESPN /USA TODAY WEEKLY COLLEGE SOFTBALL POLL AND THE WEEKLY COACHES COLLEGE SOFTBALL POLL EVEN EXIST????

Meaningless beauty contests or little redheaded step children?..

Why do they have basketball rankings? The hoops form of RPI is what the committee looks at to make the bracket.

Polls are there for the conversation, but RPI is what counts. And everybody, including Patty Gasso knows that.

But you don't. If things stay like this, we'd go to College Station for the Supers. I'd be okay with that. I suspect we'll move up a little. But 8 will be hard to get to. We won't hear from the committee again until the middle of the Bedlam series. By then, if we make it to no higher than 10, it will likely be too late to get to 8.

.

The college basketball rankings are extremely influential who gets picked & who is left out of the big dance and who is seeded where. The rankings affect the brackets big time.

That was a poor analogy my friend.

The next top 10 will be announced May 6thThe first was announced April 22 for games through April 20.

The committee said nothing this morning. The RPI announced today was NOT the Committee's.
